Sunset Fishermen Beach Resort

We've visited the Sunset Fisherman a few times, but only staying for the day, while we stay at one of their sister resorts. The setup here with the pool overlooking the ocean is phenomenal. The swim up bar, and huge hot tub are great, and the food is good at the poolside grill.

It's also close to downtown Playa del Carmen, so it's easy to get into town from here. We'd love to stay here someday.

Good location not overly busy and right on the beach. Staff very friendly and helpful and good to have a bit of fun with. Food good drinks cold service friendly and not super overpriced for a resort. Pool nice and a bit of green around as well. Rooms spacious and clean.

Decent resort rooms are clean but could use an upgrade and maintenance touch up here and there. Mattresses are bad not very comfortable. Place is small and cozy not alot of walking to get to things which is nice very relaxing place overall. Also drinks are pretty bad even for resort drinks. My kid enjoyed himself and it was easy to keep track of him id go again just bring an air mattress and my own liquor

What makes a great resort are the people!
Everyone, especially the food and room service people, are very nice and polite to us!
The grounds are so clean and well kept, the workers are up at sunrise working on the pool and grounds, so friendly and happy to see us!

Great service but horrible hotel. We paid for two beds in a room and they only gave us one bed and a coach. Hotel is really more for older people it’s boring. They also make you spend a day looking at their presentations and try to force you to get a membership. They don’t allow you to RECORD THEM BECAUSE THEY KNOW THEY CANT DO IT. If you don’t go to the meeting they charge you $500 extra per room. Ask so many personal questions and use that information to try to talk you into it. We purchased a package deal from them then extra charges start happening. Might as well go to a 5 star hotel.

We've been timeshare members here for a long time. If you're lucky enough to go here you will totally enjoy it. All of the people that work here are super friendly and truly treat you like family. We like this place because it's much smaller than the other resorts in Cancun and Playa del Carmen. They continue to do upgrades which makes me pleased as a timeshare owner.

Stayed at Sunset Fishermen for my very first trip to Mexico and I cannot wait to return. The staff was absolutely amazing. Everyone is beyond friendly and so very helpful. They truly make you feel like you're special and treat you as if you are family. The food was wonderful...top notch. Every meal was full of flavor and presentation was that of a 5 star restaurant. The beach was kept clean and clear of sargazo (which did not bother us anyway!) and was a beautiful place to relax our week away. The facility is just all around fantastic! We look forward to our next visit!!
