This resort is a hidden gem. The staff are amazing here and the food and drink was good. Rooms were very clean but looked a little worn but I think that might be because of the pandemic. The views of the ocean are spectacular! This is a great resort if you want to relax and enjoy some downtime. Not a major party vibe here which was fine for us. Highly recommend reserving a Bali bed. It was an amazing experience.

Came to Royal Hideaway for a girls trip/vacation week and we loved our stay here! The resort has a ton of activities that are high quality so you never feel like you don’t have enough to do. The food options are pretty decent even if you’re vegetarian and it’s very convenient to Playa del Carmen so you don’t feel so secluded in some far away resort. Room service was great! We loved being able to have coffee and pastries delivered to our rooms every morning and random deserts or snacks when we felt hungry after pool time. The view and beach by the resort are spectacular and shaded beach chairs allow you to relax and unwind while taking in the sights. I also appreciate that there are no random hidden charges- it really is all inclusive.

More than the resort itself though, the service was top notch. We loved the attention we received from the wait staff. We had a great time on the bike tour to Playa and the Mayan ruins with Enrique, Aqua gym with Israel was a riot- basically a dance party in the pool, and other activities like cocktail classes, Mexican art, painting classes kept us entertained the whole week. Special shout out to our concierge Fernando for taking care of our dinner reservations, Lucia for all our pool-side needs, and Alfonso for being so attentive. Thank you all for making our stay so memorable!

This resort has amazing customer service. We loved all of the restaurants . The food was excellent and the atmosphere and views were so lovely. Spices was our favorite. And Juan Gomez was a very attentive and helpful server. We also loved the steak at the Grill! This is a very relaxing resort with many pools , lovely grounds in a very secure area. You can walk e very where. The only negative I have is the rooms are a little old. This resort is a good value for an all inclusive!

We had a wonderful week long stay as a group! The resort is beautiful, and the ocean is free of seaweed and absolutely stunning. Special thank you to Israel, Carlos and our concierge Karla for ensuring we had a wonderful time. The food was the best I’ve ever had at an all inclusive resort, and I will definitely be back for more. LOVED the idea of room service as well!

The only aspect that could be improved is that the rooms are noticeably dated, and could do with an upgrade.

This resort is smaller and more intimate than most resorts which is nice if you want to relax. The staff were all very nice, each building comes with a concierge who will book your dinners, and essentially help with your trip from covid booking, to activities. Another thing about this resort they have top shelf drinks (or so the bottles are :) The 2 pools are not over crowded, and you can easily save a spot around 8am versus most resorts where someone needs to be out there by 6am. Christina was a great pool activities employee and did a fun Spanish lesson!! The ONLY thing that wasn't great, but not a deal breaker was the showers are very small and have no bench for shaving etc. easily. Again, this is NOT a deal breaker just more of a small warning for future leg shavers!

It had been a long time since I was on a vacation, so when I booked this I was not entirely sure what to expect. I could not have asked for a better experience. Every aspect of this trip was excellent. The property and rooms were very well maintained. Every member of the staff was friendly and incredibly attentive of our needs. We were sincerely impressed with every meal that we ate at each of the restaurants on site. The entertainment was excellent and was provided every day we were here. So many options regardless of what you’re looking for. I absolutely recommend the Royal Hideaway in Playacar if you are considering an all-inclusive vacation for your next trip.

Stayed at this resort in July 2022 and couldn’t have had a better experience. The resort is on the smaller side, and has a close-knit feel. Although there aren’t as many activities as larger resorts, there are enough to entertain yourself while also relaxing.

The food was also the best I’ve had at a resort — you have to book your dinners with the concierge but it’s worth it! There’s also room service (included) if you want to stay in for dinner. Really recommend the Spices restaurant but they are all so great you can’t go wrong either way.

What makes this resort outstanding is the customer service!

Angel Mario from the art class: we had so much fun! it was so nice to have a personalized piece as a souvenir and they were so encouraging the whole time :)
Nikita and Carlos from entertainment: from taking us on a bike tour, to giving us suggestions to what else to do in Mexico and on the resort, couldn’t thank her enough!
Eduardo from Palazzo: made our dining experience so much better! We wanted to come back just so we could experience it again
Angel from Spices: AMAZING! He gave us so many good suggestions for dishes to try, this was one of my favourites!

I would super recommend coming to this resort. Even though it seems a bit quiet at first, it’s the perfect relaxing experience ☺️
