The hotel was nice and the staff was very friendly, but you cannot install motion detectors in the rooms. If I want my air conditioning to stay on while I am out of the room, that's MY choice. I paid for the room for the night. It's Mexico, it's hot.

Decent 3-star hotel, but better options available. With the exception of the lobby, the hotel/rooms are very outdated. Usually Curio by Hilton are hip, great properties but not this one. Rooms have minimum natural light and several have blocked windows like the one attached. Poor customer service, average restaurants and shaded pool throughout most of the day. Merida has great hotel options for every budget, but this is not one. I’d suggest to check the Fiesta Americana across the street if looking for a similar option.

Service is EXCELLENT. Staff are very kind and helpful, and speak english! Breakfast was wonderful! The rooms are a bit dated, couches need to be replaced with newer ones. As well as a serious ventilation problem that causes you to smell sewage when someone above you uses the restroom and you have the fan on, it makes the whole room stink. Besides that, an excellent stay! Room was clean and beds are soft. Lobby is modern and recently renovated. Pool is refreshing, although not heated. Overall I would come back to this hotel, so much better then the dirty hyatt regency across the street. I'm very thankful to the staff here for their wonderful service, especially dacil in the restaurant. thank you.

Unfortunately cannot give a high rating to this hotel.

Pros:
-kind staff - Mexican are lovely always and in this place as well
-Nice hall - when you enter you have a feeling of luxury hotel
-Parking- it’s great that they provide parking and the valet parks the car for you
-Poolu0026Gym - although we didn’t have the time to benefit we could see the pool was quite nice
-Maria Restaurante - very good regional food located in the hotel together with a Japanese restaurant , we had dinner here and plates were lovely and tasty
- good food served at breakfast ( a la carte)

Cons:
-Room are really outdated, badly furnished and it’s not pleasant to stay there. I had to ask to change the room as the first they provided was just too ugly. They kindly changed into a new one which was slightly better but still quite below average ( considering the price and hotel reputation). I quickly realized all rooms have this style
-Mini fridge was empty, not even connected to the electricity
-When the maids came to make the rooms, they only made the bed and change towels, but was still there a paper of used powder milk i used the day before ( they didn’t throw it)
- breakfast was good overall but we were not impressed that they served not fresh orange juice, and plates didn’t come at the same time so i had to watch husband having his breakfast and when he was done .. mine arrived and he watched me
- staff mainly speak Spanish- at breakfast none of the people could speak English and i find it very astonishing giving the type of hotel

Overall I think there would be different hotels i’d rather try if coming back to Merida

Lovely hotel however it is essential to bring some trousers as it is freezing inside.
There is no fridge and you have to go through an emergency door to get to the ice machine. Awful customer service too.

I had a reservation for a room with a king size bed and they only gave me a reservation with a double bed in the middle of my honeymoon, the only one and services that they had good, was the bar and the attention of the waiters,

The hotel is spectacular, we were there for Mexican independence celebrations the food was ok, I was expecting a fabulous meal...I was disappointed...I won't return
