If you are questioning going to OCC in Mexico for WLS… don’t! I had one of the best experiences at the clinic in Tijuana. The doctors and the medical staff are so nice and know what they’re doing! I got better care at OCC than I have ever received at an American hospital. The staff is so attentive and helpful, you don’t even need to ask… they are just there! The clinic is so high tech, clean and modern. At no time did I ever notice anything remotely dirty, they care about the clinic. Nothing but good things to say about my experience.

I'm a Nurse Practitioner myself and I chose to go to TJ, Mexico with the OCC. I received excellent care. The nurses, the staff and Dr. Ortiz and the other docs were amazing. Everything was a smooth process. I'm very happy that I made the decision. I didn't feel like another number, I felt like a patient and they cared. They are in constant communication with you via email and if you have any questions they will answer quickly and call you if its needed. Yes, I will admit as a health professional myself, it's better than the health care we provide and we receive in the USA. Well worth every penny. Don't hesitate to book, stop overthinking it. The hospital is very clean, well organized and regulated and better than any ICU and OR I have seen here (I've been in this field for more than 12yrs) As for my procedure goes, so far I've had a great outcome, I'm only a week post-op and following the guidelines to the "T" to be successful and so far so good! Thank you Dr. Ortiz and a special thanks to Dr. Alma and the nurses in the ICU for being so attentive!

I would refer anyone who is thinking of bariatric surgery to use OCC (Obesity Control Center) and Dr. Ortiz. From the first email you receive you know every step you will be taking . They are always a click away with any questions. Travel from the US to Mexico to the hotel was done with ease. The Staff and Facility are better than over half of the US counterparts. They welcome you , make sure your needs are met and are asking if there is more you need. Talking with Dr. Ortiz and the communication staff is like talking with friends . You never feel like you are taking up their time .

Everything was smooth from arrival at the airport, finding my transport. Everyone was nice and attentive. They guide you and answer all questions, the plan is easy to follow. Doctor Ortiz was spectacular, good positive attitude (happy), all nurses and front desk as well. I did not have any pain at all, not before, not after, just a little nausea which is normal, but medicine and lots of walking help. They respond to all calls and emails. Hotel was very attentive and helpful.

The OCC was amazing. They went above and beyond my expectations. From the pick up to the drop off they were so kind and professional. Mexico is all about client care and it is obvious why The OCC is one of the top rated bariatric clinics. I went with 2 girlfriends and we all had a great experience.

I just had surgery at OCC a few days ago, but I have to share how AMAZING they are! I was kind of nervous going alone, but they truly are there for you every step of the way, you never feel unsure or alone during any part of the process. Every single person I interacted with was knowledgeable and friendly (and spoke great English, which was a huge plus as I don’t know any Spanish!) the clinic itself is super nice and clean, and Dr. Ortiz and the other doctors and nurses here are so great and really help you feel comfortable during this process. If you are on the fence about weight loss surgery (especially in another country) like I was, DO IT. You will be so glad you did. I will always be so grateful to OCC for changing my life!!

I was referred to OCC from a friend who had great results. My experience here was amazing. I had plenty of communication pre-surgery and my questions were always answered very quickly. When I arrived for surgery, I felt safe. The center is beautiful and the staff is kind and professional. Best decision ever!
