It is a nice hotel. It was cheap, quite, not any noise. The internet speed was fast and reliable and you can work in the lobby.
Better than any other 4-5 stars and mrle expensive hotels.
I have no any complain, the pressure of the water is good, they provide hot water the whole time, it's quite clean, they clean everyday and provide clean towels and nee soap and shampoo everyday.
They don't provide water but you can buy water or noodles or cookies in the lobby.
They are in front of the Yucatan music museum so you can go there everyday to listen traditional music.
They staff is super friendly and they will always help you with anything you need, they can tell you how to arrive everywhere.
They have a parking lot and a swimming pool.

Yes, price is cheap and that what you get. Building is old which is fine if they take care of it. Pillows are old with yellow stains so as covers. Under the AC has mold and in the bathroom, too. Shower head need to be clean or unclog. Only 7 or 8 holes are opened and could not rinse off soap or shampoo easily. Under the beds were dirty. Absolutely need to get better management. We stayed only one night and move to other hotel. But the doorman was nice and quiet location.

DO NOT STAY HERE. Worst "hotel" experiance ever had. Very dirty. No attentiom to detail when cleaning. Food covered our table finger prings all over windows and tv and the worst part.... the bathroom. Pee spots all over the toilet seat dried toothpaste in the sink and the tap in the sink i gauruntee has not ben cleaned since 1960 forsure !
If your on a budget, spend the xtra money.!

The worst hotel we have stayed in all month! To begin, we had to sit in the waiting room for 15 minutes before we could check in so they could "verify" our reservation made online.

Then, when we got into our room, 2 of the 4 lights did not work.... and the toilet did not flush! These seem like pretty basic things for a hotel to ensure are in working condition. It didn't help that the bedsheets and walls had stains on them (mold? Urine? Not sure..)

We partially selected this hotel because it was a bit away from the downtown and we thought it would be quiet, but the walls are thin and we could hear everything going on in the hall all night long.

Finally, this hotel did not provide clean drinking water with which we could fill our water bottles.... come on! There are cheaper and better options all over town, and I would suggest looking into them.

I stayed at two hotels in the center with 2 stars with name of angel in them and were much clean and pleasant. My night at this hotel was miserable. Mosquito left scars on me. One of the beds was dirty and smells like animal, then I have to move to the other. The TV does not work. At 2 am, there was loud noises from families coming in with childrens. The power pressure was good.

I stayed in this hotel first time in 1978 (Hotel Janeiro so named at that time) and again in 2004. This hotel has special meaning for me.
I always will come back to this hotel to stay no matter what it looks
like and I feel so sad every time I look at it. It brings back all those
memories good and bad about my past life. I wish I could talk to my old friend, the owner of Farmacia Victoria, Julio Sosa R. who passed away shortly before I came to Merida in 2004, again. I will come back to Merida and stay in this hotel the very last time before I die.
