Awesome spot for delicious food and drink as well as people watching and socializing. Everything we ordered was fresh and portions were ample. Had a great time watching the activities going on..

We stopped by here because I was very hungry and it was right on the beach. This is the only restaurant I regret visiting while in Puerto Vallarta. The food was mediocre at best and the service, despite only three other tables at the restaurant, was very slow. I wanted a couple beers after walking up and down the Malecon, but our waiter never came by to ask if we wanted any other drinks. We saw three or four servers just hanging out at the bar talking the entire time we were there.
We ordered nachos to start and had "simple" (cheese) quesadillas and a chicken burrito for our mains. The nachos were the "highlight" of the meal. The cheese on them was great, but the toppings were very unevenly applied and the chicken looked boiled and had no flavor. The burrito was absolutely MASSIVE but had the same flavorless chicken in it. Cheese quesadillas were decent...
There are so many restaurants around the area and you're better served trying any other one. The view was quite nice and I'm pretty sure that's why this place is still open. I really, really hate leaving negative reviews, but this is my honest opinion of the place. On the positive side, everyone we (rarely) interacted with was very nice!!!
Enjoyed watching the birds fight for a tortilla...

Cute restaurant on the beach with seating inside or on the beach. Loved this place, the atmosphere and the location. Food, service and drinks great. Friendly staff.

Great place right off the Malecon on the beach. Get the chicken quesadilla! Amazing! Love the place and the service. I’ll be back.

I would like to start my review with a positive... the food was decent. The food that was correct anyways .
The service was absolutely horrific. We went for dinner tonight and it seemed the entire serving staff was drunk. I'm all for having fun but the soccer game was definitely a priority over the customers. After half our order was wrong and sent back we waited over an hour for a couple simple chicken quesadillas to come out. We finally had to cancel the quesadillas as everyone else was done eating. Just as we cancelled the quesadillas came out and the servers high fived and each downed a quesadilla that we had waited so long for. It's almost laugable. Then to top it off we were over charged on out bill. When we brought it to the attention of our server he said it was a suggested Tip but nowhere on the bill did it say
That. Check your bills . Do not trust
This staff. They are young and extremely unprofessional. I wouldn't recommend to anyone.

Right on the malecon, Oceano Azul is definitely a place to visit. We were waited on by 3 people and one was the owner. Recommendations were made and we went with that. We started with Margaritas and guacamole and chips and salsa. Excellent!! Our main dishes were Coconut Shrimp, and shrimp and cheese burger. My coconut shrimp was perfect. The breading was fresh coconut which was very tasty and crunchy. There was a mango dipping sauce which had a sweet taste to compliment the shrimp. Oceano Azul is on the beach with an excellent view where we were able to watch the whales jump out of the water. The only down fall was cloth table coverings, which were not changed. I recommend paper placemats.
