I will start with the good parts that unfortunately wasn't enough for me to give more stars. The staff was there all the time to answer our questions and help us in everything we needed, the location is very good and the painting on the walls are unique and interesting (especially in the terrace).
We had 3 nights in this hostel, we ordered them upfront and they already had my card in the application so we stayed. I'm travelling in South and Central America for six month now and this was almost the worst hostel we have been to.
We reserved the room from their site (the one that is in Google map), it showed a price and only after our purchase we received a mail with another price that was about 30% higher because of taxes.
We was in a private room so I can't talk about the doorms, the room was very hot all the time and had a lot of humidity, there was a celling fan in the room but he wasn't that good and made a lot of noise because something was a little bit broken in it, the room had two windows, one of them to a cleaning room and the other to a closed garden that I think was belong to another room so we couldn't do nothing to make things better, also, because of that the room had a weird smell. In general it's not bother me if the color of the wall is fading or peeling but it's just showed how much the room needs to be renovate.
The kitchen was ok, a little bit old and needed a new pans and pots, the worst part was when we finished cooking breakfast and the cleaning lady threw the garbage from the toilet in the kitchen bin and just left him there, no wonder the place is full of mosquitos (we left the place with a lot of new mosquitos bites).
They don't have safe keeping (we wanted to go to Cozumel for two days and leave our bags there) wich is fine but is not common in hostels.
I'm sure that when this place was opened it was amazing and I hope that the owners will decide to renovate it.
