I loved staying in this hostel. The price quality is incredible, I cannot believe all the services you receive for this price. When it is super hot outside, you have an amazing pool to swim in. This is a great feature as going to the beach is quite an undertaking in the heat (and you might get your stuff stolen when you are in the water). Besides that, the 'remote' check-in works really well. You make your own bed and that's it, lovely. Also nice to know that they do have a 'food-station' where you can boil water and prepare some dishes. There is a fridge, some plates and glasses, just not a stove. The big supermarket is closeby (10 min) as is 5e street (10 min). When I come back to Playa I will definately stay here again!

I stayed in the 8 Person female dorm. Contrary to what I have heard from other travelers the room has enough space and a own bathroom. The lockers are also big and the price is really reasonable. The two reasons it gets not 5 Stars. One it has no kitchen, only a fridge. Which is okay for 1-2 nights but for Backpackers with small budget probably something to keep in mind. And the other point, Carlos the owner is a super nice guy and when u the reasons why things are the way they are it makes totally sense but in the first moment the whole process seems a bit odd. There is no reception anymore and he will send u the code for the main door and for your looker via WhatsApp.

Unfortunately I can't recommend them. I was kind and polite to the staff and they treated me very poorly. They act like you are bothering them from the moment you walk in the door. I returned and recommended people to them, but the unwelcoming feel was aweful. I was one of the only guests staying there. Breakfast and pool area was nice, but the reception was not. Hopefully they find someone that are civil to humans.

Easily one of the best and cutest hostels I've stayed at. The AC unit was brand new and blew ice cold air. The bathroom stall doors have awesome paintings on them. Bed was very comfortable. Everything was spotless, super clean. I paid $10 for a spot in the 8 bed shared dorm, but no one was there so I got the whole place to myself. For $10! Breakfast was delicious. They had coffee, juice, cereal, fresh fruit, pancakes, waffles, and pastries. Some folks had a nice party going on around the pool area at night, so if that's your thing, perfect, and if not, just close the door and you'll have no trouble sleeping. A beautiful place overall. The only slight downside was that I couldn't get the water in the shower to warm up much, but it was fine.

I’ve been traveling for many years, and this is up there with one of my favorite hostels ever.
It is brand new, so there are not many review yet...but I can say this is probably the best place in Playa! Everyone is very nice who works here...extremely helpful. The breakfast will be the best breakfast you can have in Playa. The chef make a buffet of pancakes and fruit and juice...but also you can order off of his dope breakfast menu(breakfast comes with your stay).
It’s not a crazy party hostel..it’s perfect for those who enjoy a tranquil u0026 relaxing place. It’s the perfect distance from downtown where it’s not too loud in the area, but only a 4 minute walk to the Main Street. Perfect location. Thanks for everyone who made my time fantastic here

Great, laid back hostel! Big, super clean rooms and the best breakfast you will ever get in a hostal, really worth waking up for :) The staff is professional, helpful and super friendly, they try to accommodate you as much as possible. I can highly recommend staying at the Red Panda Hostal if you are in Playa and would like to have a central location but not a party hostal. Just a few blocks walking distance from the beach and center.

The only positive thing about this place is the towels. The front of house staff are disinterested and have a bad attitude, they treat you like a burden rather than a guest. They spray your whole body with disinfectant every time you walk into the premises which is a harmful toxic substance and it should be used on surfaces, not the skin which caused me burning and irritation. The dorm rooms look like a prison cell and they don’t even put mattress protectors over the mattresses, they make you make your own bed (apparently due to COVID), however other hostels are making the beds up. The bathroom is poorly lit and the drain isn’t amazing in the shower. You’re charged a deposit for the room key and also if you want to leave your luggage I was advised it’s $5US per day even though they don’t have a luggage room or designated area for it. The location isn’t great and it’s about a 13 minute walk to the main area so do yourself a favour and skip it! The dorms are overpriced anyway.
