One of the only beaches with palm trees that you can use for shade. Obviously it helps to arrive early to get a good spot. If there isn't much seaweed, the sand is nice and the water is shallow for at least a couple hundred feet.

The best beach in Playa Del Carmen, not too touristy, very relax vibes, great atmosphere. You will find bathrooms, and some local selling food and drinks. Great place to spend the whole afternoon.

It's a lovely beach with facilities and showers etc. Wide strip of sand, a cenote and the whole beach is surrounded by vegetation and palm trees.
On Aug 25th it had some sargasso still on the shore and a lot of it on the water, so we couldn't swim, water was brown. I'm sure without sargasso the place is fantastic, but not yet at this time of the year.

Calle 88 Public Beach is so pretty, quiet and the best spot on to see the sunrise in Playa. It is a bit further from downtown streets but you can easily get there. Long sandy beach.

Beautiful beach, clear and warm water, the finest sand I've ever seen, not congested at all... Almost no shade and difficult parking, so just go early.

Best Spot in Playa Del Carmen for Paddle board, Kayak, Kite Surf and Snorkeling! Join this place and just ask for activities!

Nice, quiet beach, we may have been the only non-locals there. It was sunset and still just warm enough to put you legs in and catch a few waves, my son had a blast. There were a few families and friends hanging out but overall it was quiet and peaceful. We will be going back!

Edit: We stuck around Playa del Carmen for a while and in May, the sargassum seaweed showed up. Some days you can swim and some days yuou can't, just FYI.
