My partner and I stayed here for 10 nights in March and it is one of the best hotels I've been to. The staff are amazing, rooms/grounds are cleaned and kept immaculate, linens and towels changed every single day and atmosphere is perfection. Free wifi and good selection of food at breakfast. It is a quiet piece of heaven nestled in an extremely busy area. Perfect location for people who like to travel and explore. Cannot recommend this place enough!

A beautiful oasis in the middle of the city, ideally located for the main town, beach and Nightlife but once you enter you need a good reason to leave. The staff are friendly and fantastic, the food is great and the cocktails divine. Without a doubt best hotel I have ever stayed at. We miss our friends already

Super lovely Oasis in the heart of downtown ( and close to the sea) . Located in front of Coco Bongo Playa del Carmen????????
As soon as you enter the hotel you see magical nature all around????☘️???????? and you disconnect from the whole vibrant city outside.
A very invested bar with professional barteders . The most delicious cocktails ???? You can find happy hours every day between 12:00 and 18:00 ( pay attention They take for each order up to 50 pisos of service for the place and the restaurant. That is, on each order and not on the final bill)
An amazing pool with very comfortable beach chairs all around.
A relatively large room with a very comfortable bed. The room has a safe box. Outside there is a balcony with a spectacular view of the pool and a hammock.
My partner and I were there for 3 days and enjoyed every moment. And for sure we will go back there again.
A very rich breakfast. Good team ????
There is a spa in the hotel ( We didn't go into the spa because we didn't have time. We just arrived in Mexico and wanted to walk around the city)

The hotel is more quite that all the others around as it's located a little bit farther from the blasting clubs. Yet it is 2 min walk from 5th avenue. The rooms at the end are noisy as there a big street behind. The breakfast is great. The spa included in some of the fares is a waste of time. The pool area is quite and nice. Overall a good experience.

Honestly the worst hotel I have ever been to.
The shared area looked ok (dirty pool beds but overall looked nice) but the room was disgusting. The shower needed to be replaced everything was covered with stains or rust. There are million mosquitoes everywhere we had to use spray against mosquitoes at night and still got bit a lot. The water from the sink are salty and the soap smelled horrible.

The only thing good about this hotel is the staff that were super nice and helpful.

Excellent service!! The staff goes out of their way to make you feel welcome and safe. We booked a couples massage and it was the BEST!!! We definitely would recommend this place for the service, atmosphere, friendliness, clean rooms and location.

I don't usually like leaving negative reviews for places, but after my stay at Magic Blue and Playa Del Carmen in general I have to say I was really disappointed. To preface, I am cutting my stay short by a day because I really didn't want to stay here another day (disappointing since this is supposed to be a 4-star hotel.)
This review is a two-parter one for the hotel itself and the other for the area itself.
Hotel:
Not sure if it is just my room or not but Mosquitos have been eating me alive both inside and outside of my room. To give you a count in the last 2 days I've gotten 9 bites across my entire body. They sent in an exterminator during our second day (supposedly, we were asked to leave our room from 10 AM to 1 PM but when we got back I really didn't notice a difference.)
The bathrooms are definitely not 4-star quality either, the toilet cannot flush tp and will get stuck inside of the bowl. The shower is very basic and does not have a door to close.
The staff here are either hit or miss, there are plenty of very nice and helpful employees however there are also a few employees that have just ignored requests or have not responded to questions (a lot of things are done in Playa Del Carmen are done via WhatsApp).
The $37 credit per person is kind of a joke when the lowest cost for a message is 100 dollars. (Hydrotherapy gets as cheap as $30 however the credit cannot apply to hydrotherapy).
Town:
Unfortunately, the people in PDC were not very friendly to either me or my partner, prior to this we spent ~a week in CDMX (Mexico City) and did not experience anything negative worth noting. However here in PDC my girlfriend was openly discriminated against because she was Chinese (she's not even Chinese), an employee at a nearby nail salon was about to work on her then went to reception and in Spanish said something along the lines of "no puedo trabajar con la china", I can only guess she said this because she thought my girlfriend didn't understand Spanish. On multiple occasions, we've seen locals get much better treatment than us and other tourists.
Overall I, unfortunately, have to give the hotel a 1 star for not being as advertised and some staff being very unhelpful/ignoring requests. And a 1 start to the area (There are some great places and also some very friendly people, however, they are seemingly outweighed by the negative in the area.)
