The description and photos are misleading. The rooms are not quiet, you hear guests in their rooms, in the halls and stairs, and the street noise impacts the quality of the stay. The rooms are small cramped with filthy furniture and questionable bedding. There was one electrical outlet in our room and the refrigerator and tv were using it. No hot water the first day. There is a narrow spiral staircase to drag your bags up and down. Coffee is instant in a small plastic container on top of a microwave. Drinking water was in this area in a store bought plastic container. It was often empty. There is no lobby. The owner lives on site and is not around except to want full payment in cash on arrival. Once paid there was no recourse or leaving. There is a table where a group could sit but it was not appealing, cars were parked in front of it in the courtyard blocking access to it.

Boutique it is not. It is a an inexpensive stay at a run down neglected, converted home. If this is what you are expecting when booking here you should be fine.

The entryway was the first clue that all is not as advertised. It was unswept and cluttered with garden tools, fertilizer bags, and yellowing plants. Refrigerators and microwaves are NOT available in every room. The "terrace" looked down on a tattered and useless umbrella at an outdoor table. WIFI is so spotty that people had to sit in the hallways or resort to standing in the street to get a connection. The one good thing about it is its location. It is indeed within walking distance of Frida Kahlo's home, a decent place to have breakfast, downtown Coyoacan, and the market. Caveat Emptor.

Great location, walking distance to many parks and restaurants. Hotel had lovely, bright rooms and nice balconies to enjoy in the evenings.

I choose this place for the vacations of my family and was a right choice, Casa Berlin is a beautiful place with colonial architecture close to Frida Kahlo's House, within a holistic environment, and a good welcoming from the owner.

Totally Recommended.

My Wife and I Stayed 6 Days during Dia De Muertos. Room was Clean. Quiet Area. Big Screen T.V. with Netflix. Our stay was a Relaxing and Stress Free. Irene and Marco were very Gracious and attended to any and all Needs. This Place is Safe and Secure. A must for The Traveler interested in Mexico's History. Beautiful Cobble Stone Lined Streets.

We highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a nice quiet, beautiful stay in Coyoacán. The service and hospitality was excellent and it’s very close to cafes, the market and other sights to see. We will be back!
