The hotel is great. They have to fix a few things with the bathroom, but that wouldn’t make me look for a different hotel next time.

We stay at this property, usually twice a year during our six night road trip from the U.S. to Yucatan, MX.(including the return trip) It is my favorite stop. The staff is professional but also warm and welcoming. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The restaurant on the premises has good food and service The rooms are comfy and clean. The price is also very reasonable, especially compared with some of the other places we stay. I definitely recommend this hotel.

Firstly, it took a very long time to check in, like 20 minutes; they had to swipe my credit card three times to successfully charge me, even though my credit card details have been in my profile for years, and also provided during booking. Secondly, she asked if I want to setup a "voucher", I asked her what is a "voucher", which she didn't explain, then she said she will charge the room rates for my stay, which is fine. I asked about food, and she said that the only thing available is Room Services, which I indicated that I will order.
Then I ordered some tacos, and when it was delivered to my room, I wasn't given an option to charge to the room, which is very strange, he demanded cash. I said I want to charge it to my room, and the delivery person said, "one moment", and left the room. I thought he was going to print something for me to sign. Before I knew it, Front Door Receptionist called me, and was not very pleasant, saying that I did not have enough in my credit card prepayment to pay for the food (it was only US$9!), and said that I must pay in cash, or I had to come down to the reception to pay for it with my credit card. This is just ridiculous, every major international branded hotel I stay at, always pre-charge a little extra to cover incidentals, and why didn't she do so? She tried to blame me for declining the "voucher system", I didn't even know what the bloody voucher system is! In addition, I am a Spire Ambassador member, IHG has known me intimately for decades, does she think that I was going to run away from the hotel skipping a US$9 charge? She has my credit card details, and she could've just charged it. The problem is that she takes TOO LONG to charge credit card. I am not going to come to reception and waste half an hour for her to play with her machine to charge US$9 to my credit card while the food gets cold. I asked her, does she seriously think that I would run away from the hotel not paying the $9 tacos? She said she has to call the manager. I said fine, get the manager to call me. After waiting another 20 minutes, the manager never called, the food was sitting on my table getting cold. I finally told her to take the food away. Instead of being courtesy and apologetic about the whole experience, she just said she would send someone to pick up the food. Another 15 minutes went by, and no one came. I had to call her again to advise her that I am going to leave the food by my front door, and she better calls someone to pick it up and cancel it.
The whole experience was just sureal. This is my first time I stay in Mexico, and so I chose Crowne Plaza, expecting a certain level of customer services, and this is what I got!

The hotel is nicely located in one of the up-scale areas of Villahermosa, very close to a park and the Galerias Tabasco Mall. The hotel and the area feels safe even for non-Spanish speaking foreigners traveling with kids. Most of the reception staff do not speak any English which is a pity. However, they are very friendly and very willing to help in any possible way. Breakfast was fantastic. The rooms are spacious and clean and the beds are great. Internet was good and stable even for working. The swimming pool is small but nice and well maintained. The one minus point in the facilities is definitely the gym - it is basically nothing. One bike, one old treadmill and a device that I could not really figure the use. The hotel offers a range of services, like laundry, etc. but the prices are quite high. The food in the restaurant outside breakfast was also satisfactory although probably not amazing. However, in the neighborhood there is Chilly's and other nice restaurants.

the staff was very helpful and the hotel is upgraded nicely
however there was a horrible smell from the pipes in the lavatory (not just my room) they had to come pore bleach down the drain several times. the equipment was lacking, only 2 old treadmills and other equipment. the dining experience was fantastic. along with the room service. it was in a safe location and the security was admirable. i would have like to see an English option for the TV stations (only 3 English channels). the rooms were kept very clean.
however the beds were rock hard and even with two comforters and two mattress toppers it was hard to sleep on.

I attended an meeting at the hotel and it was amazing. The staff is always polite and cheerful, and the facilities are in excellent conditions. But the best part was definitely the food. It was really tasty and we'll presented. We will come back if possible.

This is a disappointing hotel.
Everything is dirty, filthy carpets, dirty bed throws, the air conditioning does not work efficiently, no upgrade, minibar or IHG Platinum Elite benefits. I paid for a junior suite (which I expected to be upgraded) but received nothing but a bedroom with a dirty sofa by the door. To be fair after I complained the filthy chair was changed and the sofa covers washed but no steps to redress the inconvenience. Also the so called “business centre” is terrible with poor food selection and quality. Downstairs breakfast is good but there are more staff serving than there are customers and with the best of intention your meal is continuously interrupted. The hotel is more interested in itself than its customers.
