Playa del Carmen is to be chosen over Cancun. Though it is filled with tourists certain times of year, if you go out exploring of town there are some wonderful little experiences, sites, and people to enjoy. Walk the southern part of the beach and it is very secluded with virtually no wrinkled old grey fat people to disturb the natural beauty. On the northern part of the beach you may be invited by some friendly local fisherman having a bonfire on the beach to enjoy their recent catch. Definitely take the boat over to Cozumel and rent a motorcycle for the day!

Great park to enjoy the morning vibes or afternoon walks. Lots of space and lots of tourist taking pictures. There are some shows but you just have to be on the lookout since there is not a schedule for them. Local food carta selling fresh fruits.

If you love mass tourism, this is the place to be! If you don't, better avoid it right away!

There is everything you may expect from a restaurant mile over street artists u0026 exhibited jaguar puppies to random drunk folks. Either way, it's crowded!

Somehow it's something special to be surrounded by thousands of experiency-lusting foreigners, however, it has nothing to do with a Mexican experience at all.

Our trip to Playa Del Carmen was so needed.
The people are wonderful, lots of store fronts and the food is amazing.
The beach was stunning clean aka salty lol but also warm water with gorgeous waves I absolutely recommend you see this place in Mexico

Nice park with vendors and a beach. They do a ceremony a few times a day which had us mesmerized for a half hour. Really neat to watch, and they collect tips at the end but definitely well deserved. Seemed like a central tourist spot, and there was a police presence and seemed safe to spend a few hours shopping or relaxing.

Beautiful statue and beach. Extremely busy area. The ferry to Cozumel departs from this area therefore the congestion at certain times is a lot. If you decide to visit a weekday is better than a weekend. You can drive to the area just park on a local street. Pay at a meter with your license plate and walk into the beach zone. Great music, food and ambiance.

Nice park, we had a good there. Lots of security and many shops to go around it. A nice stop if you are in the Cancun area.
