+Hot water in the shower (but takes a really long time)
+Nice receptionists

-Very loud music makes the room literally shaking. ***Impossible to sleep***
-Ants
We had a clogged in the shower (before we took a shower). The hole was full with disgusting stuff and they didn’t take care of it.

I am giving Maya Del Mar 5 stars for several reasons. 1) Very authentic and cultural old model style hotel. I appreciated the structure for its age, detail and location. This wasnt my usual sheraton marriott or 4 star hotel stay. But its was beautiful and positioned right in the midst of the experience. 2) the staff Evert the front desk clerk, Jacenia the housekeeper were hospitable and accommodating for the week. 3) we were able to see much just from the balcony. 4)the beach was steps away. 5) the bus and boat were no more than a 5-9 minute walk up la quinta ave. 6) I used an app to book and everything ran smoothly. 7) the shower was hot with good pressure. 8)air and fans worked very well. 9) housekeeping cleans well even mops the floor. 10) the police clear the streets by like 3ish. I just watched Encanto so i enjoyed the whole place lol. My cons include: they only gave us 1 key and no microwave. As far as the outside music and hype i just put in my ear buds with ocean and thunder sounds and was sleep in no time. The outside didnt bother me one bit although i do usually prefer peacefulness. For the deal I received this is definitely worth the 5 stars

This is the worst hotel ever, I bought a package for playa del Carmen and didn't know that this hotel was the reserved one for me. The mattresses are very uncomfortable, the sheets were dirty, the bathrooms are in bad shape, very old and they don't have elevator. Also there is a night club next door so it is impossible to sleep.

This is not a luxury hotel. This is a place to flop after walking and or drinking in Playa del Carmen. Air conditioner may or may not work. You may or may not see mice and lizards in the rooms. This is a typical crash pad for young beach goers. It serves that purpose just fine.

Good for the price. Very small rooms but okay if you only need a place to stay. Very uncomfortable and hard mattress btw. Right on the heart of 5th Avenue. It can be very noisy at night, it's like having the party in your room. On top of Cerveceria Chapultepec. If you looking to party and don't mind noise, this is your place! Everything is close by, Bus station (ADO) is only a few blocks away, the beach is a few steps away.

The hotel is amazing. The room was quiet and just so beautiful, very big. The bed was super comfy. Everything was clean and really nice. The breakfast was ok too.
I loved it. Right in the back of 5th avenue and few meters away from the beach. Worth every cent!
