This resort is beautiful! They really have thought of everything. Gorgeous place. So big that they have golf carts to transport guests around the facility. Staff is professional and helpful. The room we reserved was on the beach so literally 20 steps from the patio you could walk right up to the beach which was very important to have at that price. The beach access was private and they block off some of the waves so the water (which by the way is clear with white sands) is gentle and swim able. The beach room even included a butler. Our butler was named Rodrigo who called me before we went out to Mexico. He helped me to arrange any activities available at the resort and answered any questions I had. I have stayed at other 4plus star hotels and Mayakoba definitely sets the bar high. So far no others have beat them in service, location, hospitality, or beauty. Can’t wait for the chance to go back!

Our travel agent recommended this place. I was skeptical and ended up having the best experience.

This was definitely one of the best hotels we have stayed. If not the best so far. We have stayed at four seasons and enjoy the boutique hotels. This one was a large hotel that actually delivered an unique experience.

We stayed here a couple some time ago, and the experience was just amazing. I always find myself comparing the other hotels we stay at with this one.

Let me tell you what we loved about this place.
- the bikes and riding around the property
- the little village with music and stores
- the River tour on an awesome small boat
- the pool is amazing
- the service is top notch
- everyone was always knowledgeable
- the cars to drive us to other restaurants in their sister properties
- the restaurants were amazing, specially the Saffron at the Banyan Tree
- the rosewood hotel restaurant is just beautiful

Amazing, I’d recommend with highlights to those looking for an unique experience in the Riviera Maya or just anywhere… you don’t need nor will want to leave the hotel, but taking an evening to dine in Playa del Carmen was worth it.

Loved our time here! We stayed in a beach area suit. We had the lagoon view on our balcony. 2-3 minute walk to the beach. You have to take a golf cart to get back to main hotel/pools which we were worried about the distance at first, but upon staying at the property it really wasn’t a problem at all. The whole experience was very calming, very pretty landscaping and relaxing property. The food and service was excellent. We had dietary restrictions and they accommodated us, the chefs came out personally to make sure everything was okay. Food was delicious, pool areas are nice. All in all we loved in, nothing but good things to say.

Stayed here for a week in June and our stay was very nice! We stayed in a room right on the beach. Right outside our back door that opens to the patio and private pool, there are several restaurants just a few steps away where you can go sit and have a bite or you can claim a beach chair and have food and drink brought to you as you enjoy the sounds and relaxation of their beautiful beach! They have guys that are out raking and cleaning all the seaweed so the beach stays beautiful! The pro golf shop is very nice too with a great restaurant on site! This entire property is huge and very well kept. They were great about cleaning the room every day which is probably why our room was bug free! Being in the jungle you sorta expect to see something and I was impressed with how much I didn’t see! They also have people that walk around the outdoor restaurants with a well trained large hawk on their hand which scares off the smaller birds to prevent them from harassing the guests while they eat. This place is on point in so many ways! Also my daughter is planning to get married at a nearby resort and the nice man in the front lobby called the resort for me and set up an appointment for me to go there to take a look at the property and meet the wedding coordinator! He went above and beyond! Carlos is another helpful employee in the lobby who helped up set up our itinerary for the week which included dinner reservations a few nights, the on site boat tour and tickets to Cirque de soleil which was located nearby! He was a huge help and was so kind! I highly recommended this amazing resort to anyone and everyone! You will for sure have a perfect and memorable vacation if you stay here!

We were there for a conference, so no time to enjoy the pool or spa or beach.
The Casita room was comfortable and well appointed. We wanted to be near the meeting rooms so asked to move to the main building. We knew the room would not be as nice, and it wasn't.
I was disappointed in the overall food quality. Breakfast was fine, the lunch buffets were not good, and dinner at Gaia was mediocre at best. Surprising based on past experiences with you and other Fairmont properties. I'm not going to bash you publicly - no need to publish this anywhere.

What an amazing place to spend a week and unwind, away from distractions and the fast pace of life. Time slows down while in Mayakoba and because it isn't crowded you actually feel like you have escaped to an unknown secret. We have been three times and have found the staff to be incredibly nice, no matter where we stayed (Fairmont or Fairmont Heritage Place). The staff is always attentive to our needs. They have helped with reservations, activities on/off property, items needed in our room, or just general information. Our family plans to return at least 1x per year and we will always stay at Fairmont.

Overall good experience but there are 2 main things to improve. The restaurant experiences such Korean dinner are not really good for the price we paid. The other Gaia restaurant needs a better choices as menu was very limited and service a bit lost.
