We spend our beachday here, plenty of sunbeds (100 peso each) available and the food tasted fine. We recommend the shrimp taco, guacamole and the mojitos! We really enjoyed our day and came back today. They are still figuring out the music vibe; we liked the spanish/salsa and softer playlists better than the rock music. We shared the place with 3/4 couples at most - really relaxed and a lot of shade! The only downside is the beach/water acces, which is not the best with a lot of stones.

Update for Jan 2022 - I have been coming here for over a decade now, and new ownership took over recently. Some minor cosmetic changes (new paint) but it's still a lot of the same vibe. There is nothing pretentious here. Accessible via the beach or cutting through Hotel Costa Del Mar. The staff (Ivan the bartender) is very friendly. The swinging bar seats are a great spot for people watching with an idyllic ocean backdrop. Excellent guacamole and shrimp tacos. Very reasonable prices. On the weekend they had a DJ cranking out house music so that's a different vibe than before.

This was the cheapest place on the beach and the only one with seats in the front row. We ordered a bucket of beers, a couple of margaritas and fries for a snack. The fries were expensive for what we got but the drinks were a decent price. The service was god too.

Run away fast! They tried to charge me almost TWICE the bill (770 pesos instead of 410). No wonder the restaurant and beach side are empty most of the time - they are really pirates!

I don’t know what this place is like during the day but on a Saturday night it is true to its name and turns into a tourist trap! They have a man on the 5th Ave that will lure unsuspecting tourists with promises of a chill place to have a nice drink on the beach without all the craziness of mandala or other nightclubs. When we got there he said it’s $40USD for bottomless drinks or $20USD each for a cover. My husband gave him a $100USD bill and after giving us wristbands he gave my husband back 200MXN (usd $10) and took off! They wouldn’t even give us a beer because it “wasn’t included”! So for $90USD you can’t even get a beer. And the music was like from a horrible underground rave that no one could dance to. It was so terrible we just left and had to accept that we got totally ripped off.

Hotel del mar has gated parking and great staff. Techno dj was good, little loud during day. Wonderful guac and ceviche! Sandwich and fries!!!

Absolutely fantastic, close to everything but tucked away and quiet. Bar tenders are chill and drinks are cheap. My favorite place on the beach.
