We wanted to take a break from Mexican food after a few days in Oaxaca. Pizza Nostrana is a gem you may not notice at first sight. It is a small restaurant with around 8 tables. The food was good, fresh, and reasonably priced. I got Pino Colada, which was not served in any other restaurants we had been to so far in Mexico. The waiter was very accommodating and flexible in switching my potato to vegetable to go with my grilled chicken. My husband’s pasta was well prepared but didn’t have the right olive and capers he likes. 1 point lost here :) But overall we enjoyed it. Will go back.

Nice cozy warm little place right next to the cathedral. Basic service with average pricing for pastas and pizzas. 3 out of 4 of the dishes we ordered were good, one was too plain. Would recommend the soup, and avoid anything with bacon (it wasn't bacon, not sure what type of meat it was).

Good Italian food. Reasonable service. Just a little disappointing that despite extra tomato sauce being explicitly requested for the pizza (a vegan was eating without cheese), the pizza arrived very thin and dry in this respect. Seems all too common with Mexican pizza..

Italian food yes, but with a truly Oaxaca flare. My favorite place for dinner in Oaxaca for the last twenty some years. Great food, incredibly comfortable atmosphere. Don't leave Oaxaca till you eat there.

Excellent pizzas, pastas and salads in a tiny cafe just off of Alcala on a side street in front of the cathedral. Pizzas come in 4 sizes, ranging from piccolo to grande and are served on round wood butcher blocks. The poblana was a favorite, with onions, sausage and strips of poblano peppers. Full bar, wine and beers. Get a limonada with Bacardi blanco on a warm afternoon.

Good thin crust pizza, but not much chicken on the Pizza Pollo.
