Great selection of mezcals, great service and lots of fun! The space is small, but if you are lucky enough to get a seat, you won't want to leave. 100% recommend checking it out!

The bartenders Naomi and Yessica provided excellent service. Very attentive, kind and knowledgeable about the different kinds of mezcal they have. Cozy atmosphere, music varies from grunge, classify rock, alternative, and Latin. Very welcoming environment and a great place to stop by and try the local mezcal!

A beautiful little bar. The bartender was very knowledgeable about the mezcal, and now I’m drunk.

Upon reading about this place online, we were excited to taste and learn about mezcal at La Querencia Mezxaleria. However, once we sat down at the bar we felt very unwelcome. The bartender seemed as though they had no interest in serving or speaking to us for some unknown reason. We asked if they did mezcal cocktails to which we received a very blunt “no” response, which was surprising as there were cocktail shakers on the back bar. We later asked for a non alcoholic drink and got offered a cocktail instead… very confusing, as we were told they did not do them. Alas, once we decided to try some mezcal, there was nothing to promote what we were tasting from the bartender or any background knowledge about mezcal itself. A let down given this is what we were expecting after reading reviews and blog posts about this place. We quickly drank our mezcal and got out of there. Maybe we got unlucky with the day and time we went but I would recommend taking your money, as well as your time to another mezcaleria in Oaxaca City where I’m sure you’d feel more welcome.

We did a mezcal tasting here and had an awesome time. Bit of a language barrier but the passion radiated through and we learned about what we drank with joy :-)

This is majestic place. Cozy, small, with a very smiley staff, very informative and true gem of Oaxaca!

Super friendly bartender, great atmosphere, not busy if you go early enough in the evening. Loved the tasting experience he gave us, mezcals were all tops! Los Topiles is worth the try.
