This hotel has the best staff in all of Oaxaca. It's got spacious rooms,, beautiful terrace, great location and awesome breakfast!

Amazing all around. I am picky but this place was great. Spacious room and large jacuzzi. The view was phenomenal as well. The location could not have been better for our time in Oaxaca.

We really enjoyed our stay here at the Hotel Casa Catrina and will happily return if we are in the area. I only gave it 4 stars to point out some improvements that would raise it's status in my eyes. First, our likes. Wonderful staffing with Elizabeth's friendly personality making us feel at home. Excellent daily cleaning that often occurred as we ate breakfast in their courtyard restaurant. A large room with a great balcony on the Green room made for a comfortable stay.
Now the improvements. The coffee was weak and skipped it after the first day. Our room was dark making it hard for me to read without my glasses. The room was large and could use a comfortable couch making it a place you'd like to lounge. I don't like having room safes that are not attached and can easily be carried away. But don't let my few complaints stop you from staying there. It is a lovely place to stay.

My wife and I visited this establishment last night, first the positive. The food had a good flavor which we really did enjoy. Now the negative, I ordered sweet tea and it had a sour taste that sweet tea will get if left out at room temperature for too long. My wife ordered their Catrina Dip, it was too soupy and water downed from the pico de gallo is my guess, it was so soupy that you couldn't get it to stay on the chip. Which brings me to my next issue, while they were not busy at all and their wait staff stood around a lot while we were with out drinks and chips. I can understand if a business is really busy having to wait but, we sat for 15 plus minutes with out even being checked on, unacceptable in my view. I ordered a Chimichanga and asked they hold the rice and give me extra beans, they instead brought me a second plate of just rice and beans, they did offer to fix the mistake which I appreciate but declined as we had already had waited for quite some time and at that point we just wanted to eat and leave. I also had ordered a taco on the side as it was .99 taco Tuesday and I love a good taco and wanted to see how theirs stood up, which it did nicely great flavor and more importantly no grease running everywhere. When I went to pay the bill I noticed they were charging me full price for the taco, I questioned it and they removed the charge all together which was not necessary, but appreciated non the less.

Overall great food, just poor service if you don't mind a wait then give this place a try I guess.

Hotel casa catrina is very close to Santo Domingo church one of the interest point of Oaxaca city, the rooms are very comfortable, the people are very helpful, the hotel has restaurant, the hotel style is colonial
