The door man is very selective here. Visited while on vacation in Mexico City, we were staying literally across the street at the JW. The door man allowed a couple in front of us in without reservations. The couple held the elevator doors for us and the door man told them not to. He then asked us if we had reservations, when we said no he said we couldn’t go up. Also lied and said it was a private party. When we asked what party, he said he couldn’t share that information with us. His boss so happened to come downstairs and we explained the situation and he apologized. I was profiled here. Apparently they’re not comfortable with black people being in their establishment. I’ll add that those getting in we’re dress extremely casual, women in sneakers. We were wearing dresses and heels. Sad to see that the Latino community treat black this way. Especially those who can obviously afford to in this neighborhood.
