Zero stars if I could. IT IS NOT SAFE.

I travel to CDMX for work regularly. On the last morning of our most recent trip, my colleague and I visited the square looking for souvenirs. Local vendors thought we were taking videos of them but despite showing them we hadn’t, I was assaulted, pushed, yelled at, and restrained from leaving the area. I was quickly surrounded by 8-10 people grabbing me so violently I have bruises on my arm. They called me a “f-ing gringa” and thoroughly convinced me never to return to their market.

This was at 10am on a Friday morning. Do not visit if you don’t have to. Locals are not welcoming.

I do not recommend to walk around this place. Just use the public transportation as quickly as possible.

Great food!! Get there early. Its small and usually has a que for breakfast.

Very clean, well done up, not sure what else you would want when transitioning from the metro to metrobus

The memorial sits in the center yet below a busy elevated roundabout, at first you’ll find it confusing to navigate but there are paths that lead below the elevated roundabout to the memorial. Along side the memorial is a metro station as well as a connecting bus station, so it’s busy with pedestrians commuters racing to go about their day. I visited at night which I found that the memorial was quite dark, noticed the lights poles were not on, don’t know why but with many people around one may find themselves wondering if it’s safe. I didn’t experience any issues but that didn’t stop me from watching my surroundings as I explored.
