One of the main reasons we enjoyed Coyoacán was due to our stay at Hotel Casa Jacinta, a 10-room guest house which exudes loads of charm and hospitality. My partner chose Casa Jacinta based on a Google search of Coyoacán accommodations within close proximity to Casa Azul. Our stay in July was ~$125 USD/night, which is pricier than other accommodations we considered in Mexico City, but we would stay there again in a heartbeat!
Casa Jacinta is managed by the quirky and kind Emiliano, as well as Sarah who was super sweet and attentive to our kid. Every time Sarah saw our little one, she checked in with her and asked if she needed anything, and tried making conversation with her, too. The staff can really make or break a stay, and the staff at Casa Jacinta certainly enhanced our experience.
We stayed for three nights in Cuarto 2, which has a barred Juliet balcony that looks over the front courtyard of the guesthouse. We also got a peek into Cuarto 5, which looked lovely as it has an open terrace/patio that faces the back garden area. The rooms have beautiful bathrooms, local art hanging on every wall, decent WiFi, and cable TV (not that we turned it on once–we were busy!). Casa Jacinta also has a common area dining space where they serve coffee, tea, and water, as well as a living space with couches and some board games.
The garden in the back was a great spot to kick back and enjoy the fresh air and greenery. We loved eating our breakfast out there. It was private and homey enough to feel like your own backyard.
Casa Jacinta is within close proximity to numerous eateries, as well as the Coyoacán town center. As much as we loved the proximity, we could have easily spent our entire days within the walls of the guest house’s retreat-like atmosphere. Definitely recommend a stay!
