Incredible experience. Delicious food presented beautifully. Rubin, our server, was kind, attentive, and spoke Spanish and English. The views are stunning too. Easily a $600 experience in NY. A must go!

Our first visit to Mexico City, we were served by Bryan and Victor. They were not only friendly and knowledgeable...they were so eager to please us. We actually didn't feel like paying customers, they made us feel like family...no kidding!!

The views are amazing and while this restaurant is a bit pricier than most, it was so we'll worth it. Again, these two gentleman made it so pleasant with their recommendations...

The staff at Balta are incredible. Each person as detailed and attentive as the next. Both mornings my wife and I had breakfast there and the service and quality of the food were excellent! It really keeps in tune with the theme of the Sofitel Mexico City. The modern designs and styling are not limited to the hotel, but carry through to the Balta as well. With many options to eat throughout la ciudad, I would definitely recommend Balta.

Food was incredible and SO cheap relative to American restaurants. The breakfast was the best we had in Mexico City and both the coffee and mocha were unbelievably good - strong flavor and the mocha had Mexican chocolate notes and was not too sweet. For food, I highly recommend the enmoladas and the croquet sandwich (pictured below).

Diego, Ivan, and Lily were our servers and provided us top notch service. They also gave us great recommendations for where we could find and locally purchase the coffee we loved so much at the restaurant.

The restaurant is located across the Angel and is part of the Sofitel hotel.

The food was excellent. The ambiance was wonderful, and the staff provided an amazing and warm service. Great view of the Angel. Thanks to all the staff for a great dining experience!

Summary: This restaurant was incredible. Beautifully and perfectly prepared food. Service was superior. I have eaten at some of the best places around the world and am a harsh critic.

Balta is some of the best service and food I have ever experienced. A hidden gem that will be known soon enough. (I loved the attention to detail, like the table side stands to hang your bags and jacket.)

Get here before the waitlist begins ;-)

Now for the details: The Smokey guacamole is a must order—it’s the best I ever had in my life. I had it at dinner last night and came back for breakfast and lunch. It’s almost embarrassing to tell you that but it’s actually that good.

We were on a special diet, so lots of veggies, they were outrageous—beets with fresh mozzarella that was perfect, baby corn with melted butter and a spicy salt, artichokes, hummus, roasted asparagus, tea with coconut milk (we each drank several, it was that good). I also attached a photo of the chocolate coulant, a popular dessert prepared by their executive chef. And some of the breakfast buffet, which I could do because I came here for so many meals. ;-)

Our waiter Adrian was absolutely amazing. He was super attentive and engaging. The food was very tasty. The decor was very nice!

Overall a 5/5. If you want to experience good food and service, visit Balta while in Mexico City.
