Avoid ground floor rooms. Upper floors may be better but it was fully booked when we arrived. As we could not change the room. We had to find another place to stay because it was soo bad. Luckily they did not charge a dime. Very noisy A/C from the 90's, smelly room and not properly closing door. Such quality you expect for * or ** hotels, but not a ****. I travelled all around the world and it was the first time to refuse to stay at a booked place.. We were very tired and disappointed but managed to find another hotel nearby where we had amazing stay. I recommend to check the room first before occupying it. Not only for this hotel, but everywhere in the region.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in early December. The staff was helpful. The rooms were basic but clean. They were musty, but the smell could be cleared out in a matter of minutes. It's a 500 year old former monastery and the rate can't be beat. Most of all I loved breakfast overlooking the garden and cool evenings in Parque Hidalgo. An amazing stay. I'll be back.

Nice Hotel at 200 meters from Merida Zacalo. Room and bathroom was confortable and clean while a bit old. The location is perfect

Great place to stay for the price. Helpful staff, clean basic rooms, good air-con and the perfect location for exploring Merida.

Great location, nice building, private parking (but remote). The general condition is however quite poor. Doors are not opens/closes properly, hot water is about + 25C, not all hosting staff at the front desk speak English

I went back to Hotel Caribe for the first time in 35 years. Though there have been a few changes, it has retained its unique "flavor". The trees in the courtyard have grown up! Lovely place. Gracias : )

Centrally located in Merida, pool in the roof, functioning WiFi and very nice atmosphere. Our stay was good without any complaints. The beds were wonderful, especially for a tall guy like me.
