First I just want to say that I would give 20 stars to this place. !!! I just got back yesterday and this is 11 times in the last 2 years I have stayed here. Its my tranquility away from reality. The owners go out of there way to help you anyway they can and the staff is AMAZING.(I actually became very good friends with all of them). The location is perfect with walking distance to the best of Merida. I wish I had the same bed and pillows they have because I sleep my best there. I always wake up thinking of the breakfast that will be served.(something different everyday). Sometimes I don't even leave the Hotel and just sit by the pool with all the tropical plants around me and relax. Once again, thank you George and Sarah for always making me feel at home. I am planning my next stay there this week!!

When we were looking for hotels in Merida I found a good deal with a US corporate chain but my wife booked here and I am glad she did. The owners are expats and they get western standards (not letting mosquitoes own the place). The Bu0026B is very nice and has a unique charm.
The first morning we had to make a 6 AM tour and the owner got up at 5:30 to pack us a 'to go' breakfast that could have fed two more. That was unnecessary but very nice. We would recommend for sure.
I read the one bad review and it is bogus. The pictures are real and there is zero road noise in the rooms. They even have an 'honesty bar' that has honest local prices.

This is a beautiful bu0026b the staff super nice and the breakfast was really good. At our stay we had issues with the city electricity and the hotel got affected. The owners were very good about it and try to fix the issue. For our second night the issue persisted and they offered to book us another hotel for the inconvenience. It was unfortunate cuz I really loved this super quite spot. They refunded the money for the inconvenience. Me and my boyfriend enjoyed this place and will definitely come back in our next vacation. Hopefully the electricity issue is fixed soon.

Beautiful place!!! Amazing staff, caring and thoughtful owners!!! This is a great place to stay as a family or enjoy as a couple. The rooms are spacious and clean!! Great breakfast in a beautiful palapa style patio. I will definitely come back.

I honestly don't understand why this place has so many good reviews. I had a terrible experience and had to sleep in another place. My room was in corridor at the entry of the hotel so I had to choose between intimacy and having light in my room. The bed wasn't confortable at all, you hear the noise coming from the street. The AC had tape on it made a lot of noise. Don't trust the rooms pictures on booking or any other website because it will seem way better than reality. The breakfast for that price was almost disrespectful. Again, I really don't understand how this hotel have so many good reviews, maybe I had the worst room. Also the owner didn't care about us leaving and didn't offer any solution.

Casa de Maya makes you feel at home! We loved our stay and were pleased with how special the staff made us feel. Aaron took great care of us and provided great suggestions like visiting Hacienda Sotuta de Peón, which was incredible! The owners, Sarah and George, are genuinely one of the sweetest and most down-to-earth people we've ever met. When George heard about our engagement, he was so happy for us; it felt like we were giving the news to a relative. I can't stress enough how lovely Casa de Maya is; if you are visiting Merida, I highly recommend booking your stay here! From the bottom of our hearts, we wish the best to Casa de Maya and all of its future endeavors.

Tastefully decorated, beautifully run, delightfully surprising. The owner has his touch in every little corner of this place. From check in to check out, it was easy and warm. We will be back. The breakfast which was included is not your usual continental nonsense. It is unique every day and it is good.
