Be aware that this is a private hospital. They want cash before they treat you. Our son was admitted for an accident and they wanted $20,000 before he could be treated and admitted. Our BC/BS Insurance did verify coverage. They would not give any hospital receipts so this could be filed. They said they would send the claim to insurance. To date, no claim has been filed. It has been one month. The office in Florida does not return calls. After many attempts to reach the international billing office, they told us that they have not received the charges from the AmerimedCancun hospital.

Had an emergency while visiting Cancun in April 2022, was transferred to Amerimed from Hospiten as they could not help me due some equipment malfunctions. I spent 10 days in ICU and 7 days in a regular room. All the doctors/nurses were extremely helpful and attentive, while recovering in icu the directors from both Amerimed and Hospiten came to check on me, as they heard about my case. I think the care was as good or better then in some US hospitals. Spouse did have to put up a deposit (about 2500 USD) for me to be seen and she had to work with the US based insurance to get letters of payment guarantees sent to Amerimed every 4-5 days. 3 Months after returning home my current specialist informed me that my Cancun specialist had actually called him to talk about my case and to see how I was doing. So in review the medical care is great, yes you might be fighting with administration about letters or guarantees from you insurance company but as my wife found out if you have your insurance send them to your email you can then forward to the hospital to eliminate the "We haven't received it yet" My current bill when being released from Amerimed was 743K, all sent to insurance minus the deposit my spouse did, and no payment questions were even asked when we were being released from Amerimed. It sucks they want deposits/payments up front but they are a Private hospital and not a public hospital, and they will stabilize you in an emergency.

Stay away from this place if you are foreigner, be warned ⚠️ just a scam and want your money.
They are very hungry for money when it comes to foreigners, they will put you there and twist and turn and get every single dollar. My girlfriend is not happy With the 14 year old little doctor Abigail. Very disrespectful.

Went for MRI scan…nothing was explained to me but my girlfriend had had one before so I knew what to expect.

The mri isn’t very pleasant in general…very noisy but no one came to check on me for the hour it took and they had put a blanket on me u0026 I was sweating a lot u0026 very uncomfortable.

I’m no princess I’m an ex marine commando but that felt like interrogation and could have been avoided if someone had just checked on me.

My girlfriend had in the UK and they checked up on her.

Was told I would be sent the results the next day. Got nothing so called and said it would be later that day. Still nothing the next day so had to call again after getting transferred several times and trying to speak Spanish as no one spoke English.

Finally got through and they said they would send them in next few minutes. I still don’t have the results so need to call again to try and get.

Over all not pleasant, unprofessional and just a pain having to chase my results that I still am waiting for

Thanks to Dr Rivero and his friendly and efficient staff. Super-fast service on a Sunday morning at a reasonable price. No sitting around! The place runs like clockwork

If you are a foreigner please read this! This is by far the worst place to go to if you’ve had an injury. They will try to drain you and give you the run around. The lady in the front desk didn't not break down any pricing. The next person didn’t break down pricing nor did the two doctors that walked in to look at the wound the last person came in and told us that the price would be $1200-1300USD for 2-3 stitches. A total joke. We ended up paying for their “diagnosis “ which was obvious. Which was $250USD. But that person omitted an additional $100 till the very end when were being charged. After that we heard from a local that when things like this happens to go to the RED CROSS or even a pharmacy. We went to the Red Cross and was only charged $100 pesos for the same procedure. Please stay away and don't be scammed.
