Las Llave

This is a restaurant attached to a hotel called Hotel Hidalgo.

As with all the buildings located in the historic center of Querétaro, this used to be someone’s house and now it has been turned into a hotel.

The seating area has a basically the patio of the house, you can see the second floor balconies that lead to the rooms.

As for the food it was very good. The chilaquiles with meat were mouthwatering., the steak was cooked well and had great seasoning.

The chicken soup as a starter called consume was especially filling, asked for a side of rice that I always add to chicken soup.

Service was fast and prompt, on weekends there may be wait.

It a great central place it has a good selection of food and I was surprised it was very good and I’m a very picky eater so that’s saying a lot. I would definitely eat here again the prices are fair and the service is decent. I like that they give you chips and salsa to start.

We had 2 great dishes...Chile Nogales and Chipotle Chicken and finished with Flan for dessert. Great service, good prices, an excellent find indeed!

It is a nice restaurant in a pretty courtyard of a hotel. Our food looked and tasted great with lots of flavor. Our waiter was very attentive. It was our second visit and we will definitely return.

Not flashy, just solid meals. Tampiqueña was tender and seasoned well, enchiladas were dry (enchiladas in Querétaro run that way). Pollo La Reyna was delicious, moist and tender. Not too expensive...
