To start, I gotta admit the food was good. My bf and I ordered carnitas, pastor, and cochinita tacos which we dressed at the salsa bar. They come with cilantro and onion (if you want) then you go up to a bar to add other toppings, such as nopales, limes, radishes, and a variety of salsas.
All of the tortillas fell apart while eating my tacos, so it was pretty messy.
The reason for my low rating is the service. It was very slow, but my main dissapointment was our server's lack of transparency with pricing. He suggested trying a passionfruit margarita with mezcal, so I went ahead and got one not knowing there would be an upcharge for that since it's not on the menu handed to us.
Additionally, the grilled onions or guacamole were not listed on that menu either.
I paid 85 pesos for a Paloma AND 120 for the shot of tequila added to it. NO‐ it was not a double.. the server upcharged for the liquor (after I had ordered, he came back to ask what type of tequila I wanted, to which I replied "idk? whatever it comes with").
We were also charged one beer and a Cielo rojo separately which I found strange.
After reviewing our tab I talked over my questions/concerns with the server and he sort of shrugged them off.
Perhaps this is a common occurrence, but in my extended vacation here I had never had a server not mention upcharges before, making it difficult to budget our dinner since we always pay cash and only carry a certain amount for the day. We ended up paying upwards of 900 pesos. The experience eating here left a sour taste in my mouth, and we will not be going back.
