The Tuito Bus departs from Colonia Zona Romantica in the heart of Old Town about every 30 minutes. It doesn't always depart on time or arrive on time, but hey you're in Puerto Vallarta, where are you going in such a rush? The buses are old, mostly diesel fueled and make a lot of noise. The drivers can be very aggressive and all over the road with their horn blasting at other vehicles going too slow or stopped too long in the road, That is the beauty of Mexico, the uncertainty of what's next. If you like a rigid schedule and a routine you can set your watch by stay, you're in the wrong country and you should keep your butt at home so you can get it to Walmart on schedule. It won't be long before these gems are replaced with more modern air conditioned equipment like the city buses were, so in the meantime I say sit back take a deep breath of that diesel, open your ears to the pounding of the tires against the cobblestone street and the banging of the vehicle falling apart for driving on them for so long. It will be a new day in a couple years and all of those visitors who really wish they would have gone to California instead of Jalisco will be ecstatic that change has come to Mexico.
