Amazing staff including the cutest little cat that lives in the lobby! The location is close enough to the action but quiet enough at night and the hot tub is a great spot to hangout by the pool. Would definitely be back and recommend.

We stayed in the palmar condominiums. They are great. The one we stayed in was the penthouse of 5th. I wanted to be close to the action. We have 3 kids and if you don't like noise at night don't stay here. I didn't mind it. You will hear music and singing until 2 am. We had a great time. The rooms were big and full kitchen and living room. We went to the local market to shop for groceries. Their pool is great with a hot tub. The beach is a 5 min walk.

I unfortunately had a very unpleasant experience and feel it is worth noting for others who are considering staying here. I contacted management before posting this review, hoping they would want to help ‘make it right’ before I share with others; however, after 48 hours I have not heard back, which is unusual since when I was staying at the hotel they responded almost immediately.

I have travelled and stayed at many other hotels in the area, and this has been the worst experience I have had thus far. See below for a summary and details to help inform your decision about this property.

Pros: Good air conditioning, rainforest ambiance, location
Cons: Spiders in the bed, no hot water, ants in the shower, stains on sheets, loud music all day from other nearby hotels, stiff beds
Details: I arrived in the afternoon, and while the hotel itself was quiet, the music nearby from other hotels carried into the courtyard areas making it difficult to rest. I decided to shower and waited 5-7 minutes before I gave up because the water was not getting hot. I then went to dinner and upon coming back to the hotel, found a huge black/grey spider crawling on my bed. I contacted management and they immediately found another room for me to stay in (which I was very grateful for!). I packed up and upon entering the new room, found ants in the shower and once again no hot water. I didn’t wait as long this time, but decided to just go to bed and call it a night. I crawl into bed and notice red stains on the sheets. I contacted management again, however, at this point they went silent, and I have not heard from them since; however, Airbnb has informed me they have already written a review for me, so I assume that is their way of communicating any disturbance I have caused them.

In summary, do not stay here. It is not worth the time and energy you want to spend on vacation.

Loved my stay at the hotel. All the staff were super friendly and helpful, Manuel and Ruben especially. The pool and jacuzzi are very nice and ideal if you want to relax at any time of day. The beach is only a u003c5 minute walk and the hotel provides beach chairs, towels and umbrellas. Though make sure to get up early to ask for them as they run out quickly. The hotel is located right next to 5th ave, where you can find restaurants, shops and all kinds of things. I hope to be back soon whenever I return to playa del carmen.
