The experience at Mahekal Beach Resort blew our honeymoon expectations through the roof. This stunning location is beautifully composed by its incredible staff.

Our experience would not have been what it was without the incredible food at its multiple kitchens and amazing workers. Every meal we were greeted by friendly hostesses and great music. The eating experience was wonderfully complimented by servers like Alejandro, Angel and Manuel who made us feel so welcome!

We stayed for six days and every morning were served by either Angel or Manuel who were always eager to accommodate us and predict our every need.

Dinner was no less amazing. We are especially grateful to Alejandro and Chef Jeronimo who prepared a special meal for us on our last night! They brought out delicious meats on hot stones and delicious tortillas that left us dreaming of our return!

We also have to thank Joaquin and the other ladies who kept our room for us, making us feel so comfortable after long days of exploring nearby areas. We cannot explain the feeling of relief every afternoon that we returned to our room.

I also must include the security staff at the gates always cheerfully welcoming us back no matter the time of our return.

We absolutely loved our stay at Mahekal Beach Resort. Everyone who works here, from the security guards on the beach, to the waiters, to the front desk staff, and everywhere in between are absolutely the nicest people I’ve ever met at a resort. I’ve been all over, and the hospitality I received here doesn’t compare to anywhere else. The grounds are absolutely stunning and so well-maintained. The flora and fauna of the resort can’t be beat. There’s nothing like sitting at the pool in the morning and having a monkey run by you. It’s close enough to town, but away from the real hustle and bustle so it feels very quiet and safe. We had a little issue with our hotel room on the third day, and it was immediately resolved with a complementary upgrade which was above and beyond what we expected. A few things that could use improvement… the pool filters seem to have a little issue, something under the ground floor doors so critters can’t get in, and a full length mirror in the rooms would be amazing. The following group of people made our hotel stay truly unforgettable. Rogielo, Manuel, Dulce, Luis, Jared, Jimmy, and Cesar. We didn’t eat at the resort for every meal, but what we did have here was absolutely fantastic. Every food and drink item we had was great. We chose the half board option which worked out the best for us. This is definitely the way to go if you want to experience other dining experiences in Playa. Thank you Mahekal for a relaxing vacation!

Positive: The hotel was very nice and staff was friendly. The accommodations were very clean ansd spacious and food was very good. The beach was right there by the hotel. Negative: I didn¿t know I had to pay a 105.00 USD resort fee. That was not disclosed when we did the reservation. I assumed the hotel was fully paid.

Stayed 3 nights with some friends. It exceeded all my expectations. The staff was amazing and really made our stay special. Food was great and so were the drinks. We were all inclusive and not disappointed in any way. Beautiful beach and close to the city center. 100% recommend!

We started out a little rough and management was swift to correct the problem. Not only did they correct, but they made our stay absolutely amazing. We are now looking to come back with our entire crew for a wedding at the resort. The rooms are at a great rate and the property is well maintained. Can't wait to go back!

We held our wedding here with 85 people, and the staff made it an amazing time with excellent food, service, and the most amazing setting. Mahekal is the best of both worlds, being both a smaller resort compared to most in this area, excellent amenities for those who want them, but also a location right in town that means you can stroll right out the resort into Playa Del Carmen and not be "resort locked". All this while still at reasonable rates compared to most of the competition. They also are doing an excellent job of managing the sargassum to the point that the beach is totally swimmable and pleasant to be on. I'd recommend it as the best place to stay in Playa!

I'd say everything about this establishment was top notch quality. Looking back on the entire trip I have to say it was close to perfect. We did the all-inclusive and having a waiter all day and night beachfront was awesome!
