Average hotel, not sure why it’s called a 5 star . Rooms do not have basic amenities like coffee machine , snacks bar, iron box. It’s loaded with cheap alcohol. Not many option for vegetarians or vegans specially After 10 pm no option , only red meat burger hot dogs and Ham sandwiches
. Only banana in fruits at night. Hotel director David is very customer oriented he addresses customers concern but he is bound by hotel limits. The receptionist himself commented to us that it’s the most economical Riu hotel hence they don not have all the service. Italian restaurant is decent serves good dishes but guests are only allowed to dine once there during there stay. Overall very mediocre hotel not a 5 star in my opinion.

** I called twice before my arrival requesting for food arrangements as I was arriving late and my wife does not eat read meat and the manager at reception clearly denied us of any option.

I liked this resort . The food was ok. Drinks also . But you don’t get the “good alcohol “. The room was nice too. BUT to go to the beach you have to go with a bus. Yes there is a hotel bus I think every 0.5hrs to go to the beach and back. You can get off before and go to the city. Last bus from the beach to the hotel was 18:45. Otherwise you can walk to the hotel . It’s not very far but still.. it will take around 20min. There is a pool on the beach and snack bar and a bar. Really nice beach ???? soft sand and nice water.

Rooms are decent size but very plain. Beds are hard not comfortable at all. There was only 2 plugs in the whole room. Cheap alcohol, and all the drinks tasted horrible. Food is nasty. Stale bread and weird cuts of dry meats. Not even dessert was any good. Not to mention you have to wait for shuttles that come every 30 mins if you want to go to the beach. They’re always packed and due to people being wet smell of mold. It’s not close to the beach for one to walk making it inconvenient. There’s really nothing else to do other than the pool. We tried using the ping pong tables and they never had the paddles or balls. If you’re not white or white looking waiters and staff won’t even look your way and they tend to over look your table. They only allow you 1 beach towel per day. The food at the beach was equally nasty. Definitely not worth staying here. Look for nicer, closer hotels near beach. I won’t be staying here again.

Fantastic hotel with very nice staff and activities going around all day. The food was delicious. I have nothing bad to point out except for one thing, the air conditioning at the restaurants. Sometimes it was a bit too cold which made my girlfriend unconfortable, especially at dinner time.

The beds were VERY HARD even the mattress pads didn't help. The food was just ok there were birds flying in and out of the dining room eating off leftover plates and there weren't many activities to do on the resort. I've stayed at other Riu properties and was not impressed with this one at all. The towels smelled old and burnt and the first night we were there they gave us a King room with one bed when we were supposed to have a room with 2 beds so they had to bring a roll away bed for one of us to sleep on. I definitely wouldn't stay here again. As the saying goes you get what you pay for and this hotel was part of a cheap deal on Apple vacations.

Rooms are very dated. Service was good. Would rate as a UK 3star hotel.
Entertainment during trip was very poor. Entertainment during the day was same things daily.
Difficult to get in to any of the restaurants in hotel only buffet available daily.
Unsure about location as not experienced other locations to compare.
Wouldn't recommend for a family.

RIU Lupita is a clean and beautiful all-inclusive resort. The service is very friendly and especially very fast. You are served at your table but you are also free to walk along the buffet. I would also recommend to make a reservation for their Mexican restaurant.

The rooms are very spacious, equipped with air conditioning and a fully fulled mini bar. The free hotel shuttle takes you to Lupita Beach or 5th Avenue. On their own beach, they also have a pool, bar with buffet and plenty of entertainment. We were there at the end of February and had very good weather, this was my 2nd time in Lupita!
