This place is ok if you’re looking somewhere cheap u0026 basic to stay. The bed is comfortable u0026 the place is quiet. However the shower is very disappointing as the water pressure isn’t strong (basically a drip) u0026 is also cold ????

Had the worse experience on this hotel. Stay away from it and save your self. Their front desk doesn’t speak english. We booked 2nights on this hotel just because the main resort we’re staying is in cozumel and considering all the early start of all the tours we booked we decided to stay at playa del carmen to make it on time. When we got in our room it was very dirty that i saw hair and stains in our bed and covers and sofa. So we requested for it to be replaced. The room smells like septic but because my husband and i are so tired we tried to endure it for a night. The next day after our excursion we decided that we could no longer stand the smell so my husband decided to go back and check us out around 8:30pm. He realized that he left the key to the other place were staying so he asked for help from a guy who was on duty that night. The gentleman let him in the room and told him he needs to give 500 pesos deposit which will be refunded when he return the key so he agreed. He proceeded with the check out buy realized that our phone charger was missing. He didn’t think badly of it because he thought i had it with me on the other resort but i didnt. Since my phone is already empty we walked back to the hotel and ask the front desk to go back in the room to check if the charger is there but she refused claiming that another guest have already checked in. Technically we’re still paid for that night but i didn’t argue with her and agreed to come back the next day. I knew 100% where i left the charge and my husband is 100% certain that the charger is not there when he pack our stuff. The next day I wrote them a message through the booking.com apps to follow up if they had located the charger which we knew someone stole. I haven’t heard from anyone of them so i sent another message to give them a chance. but they just ignore me. So i then wrote a review about our experience. The following day I came back to return the key and take the 500pesos deposit back and follow up about the charger again, but the rude old lady said they are not returning the 500 and not returning my charger because i wrote about a bad review. I Took a picture of her and my charger on her desk and was explaining to her why i wrote a bad review but she just mock me and told me to go away and proceeded with the next guest. So if you are thinking or checking in this hotel please dont and save yourself money and the hassle of dealing with them..

It was a good place for how cheap it was, only two downsides. The shower didn't have hot water , and the remote didn't work properly. We only stayed there for a night so we didn't ask for replacement, but the staff was cordial so I think they would have helped us with no problem

Me and my Best Friend stayed at the Papagayo for a few days. She stayed in a Studio and I stayed in a double room. They were both well equipped, everything worked well.
The hotel has a great location, very central in Playa, within walking distance of pretty much everything.
I arrived late at night, coming from the airport with Ado Bus and the stop was only a short walk away from the hotel.
Walmart is also within a short walk, only a few streets down, which was quite convenient.
I'd definitely stay here again.

The room is full of mould the mattress is green the air con has mould spores on it the ceiling in the bathroom was mouldy the headboard was mouldy.
When I complained to reception Zanna said that she didn't see what the problem was, but if we like they have another room available, so we had a look and it was exactly the same.
So we booked a taxi and went to the Wyndham Garden Hotel, a little out of the way a 15 min walk onto the beach but it was nice and clean with no mould my wife and I had a pleasant stay there.
Please avoid Papagayo Hotel at all cost's they have refused to refund us which has made the whole experience feel even worse.

I booked a room with 2 beds and they put me in a room with 1 bed and refused to move me or give me some of my money back. Nobody knows English and they use their lack of knowledge as an excuse to not help their guests with problems they created. When my room got cleaned they threw away a container with my very expensive sunglasses and did not help find them. I ended up loosing my money, my time and my good mood. I walked away crying. DO NOT STAY THERE
