I was in Playa del Carmen for 22 days and this was by far the best restaurant I went to. Excellent food, service, and location. The presentation was fantastic, probably the prettiest steak I’ve ever had. Perfectly spiced and cooked. The server, Chris, was excellent and attentive, and the rest of the staff were clearly trained to the same high service standards I’m used to getting in nicer restaurants in Canada. Very reasonably priced for the quality and service, about the same as the bigger restaurants on 5th Avenue except with much better food and service. Highly recommended.

This was a great experience, really good quality of all dishes for very reasonably prices. The wines selection is very good. The owner and his staff are super friendly. Highly recommend to have a delicious dinner. Don't miss this restaurant.

If you are looking for an amazing, intimate dining experience 500 Gramos is the place to go in Playa del Carmen. It’s a hidden gem!! The owner who is from Ohio is very personable; he greets each of his guests and ensures the highest level of customer service. His staff are very professional, very polite and overall extremely welcoming. The food is simply amazing!! My steak was cooked to perfection and the presentation was beautiful. I’ve been to other well known restaurants around Mexico and paid way more than what I received. At 500 Gramos it’s quite the opposite you get way more than what you’ll pay.. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and look forward to going back upon my return to Playa del Carmen.

From the entrance to the finale, the experience here was fantastic. Everyone was welcoming, the food was outstanding, everything was prepared to perfection, and meeting the owner, David, was a real treat.

The entire staff, especially David, were full of great energy and you could taste the love come through their food.

Truly the best steak I've had on this trip, along with the roasted potatoes u0026 vegetables, and finally a superb tiarmasu for dessert. We went home feeling perfectly satisfied.

Going back for sure .. next time to try the specially made steak sauces!

Absolutely incredible. Amazing story, owner came over to see how we're doing and was just so sweet. Can't wait to come back the next time we're in Playa Del Carmen. 10/10, I will recommend this place to everyone I know.

We were a group of 4. Had to wait for our steaks for 1h20m!!!
The steaks were very chewy and some of them were coldish. The host was great though. But you don’t come to a place for a host.

Food was great and the staff were really friendly and attentive. However the owner/manager was screaming at one of his employees so loudly that we could hear all the way from the outdoor patio. An otherwise perfect experience was ruined because we were genuinely worried someone would be fired in front of us. I went with a group of four people and we all agreed: this guy needs to chill out and match the vibe of the beach town. Like we want to go back for the food but we don't like the idea of being exposed to bad vibes again ????
