Pollo Lopez merits five stars for being oustanding at what it is. It's small, has no menu, and does a bang up carry out business. I would guess 95% of their business is with vendors from the streets around the market and from inside the markets. The last time I went there I had seven people clustered around the front waiting for their carry out. I worked my way in and there are four tables. Two small, one medium, one large and you share table space. You get roasted chicken, cole slaw, rice, and tortillas. You choose 1/4, 1/2, or 1 chicken and a drink. On the table is salt and hot sauce. All of the local folks I've met in there have been delightful.

If you feel like roasted chicken, this is a great place. If you want anything else, go somewhere else. As you can see from reviews, people either love it or hate it. No one seems to be in the middle.

El Pollo López is a small chicken place -- not the only one -- on this busy Centro block of small locales. El Pollo López is interesting among these shops for its corner in which people have left one poster or another, but at the moment I can't remember what they say. This is a neighborhood heavily traveled on foot. There is little to no parking and lots of traffic, including huge dinosaur buses that won't stop for you if they catch you crossing a street protected by a stop sign.
