exquisite food, excellent service. Stumbled upon this place by chance but the owner was extremely kind and accommodating. Try the fresh pulque and the mamey ice cream. Great for vegetarians / vegans too!

Great spot a bit out of the way of the central part of the city. Great mezcal margarita, hibiscus cone (yum!!) and squash blossom quesadilla. I was happy to be able to buy each item a la carte as many places here have more robust portions so this was a nice light option that allowed me to try these popular items in smaller portions.

Wonderful place to eat. The servers and the owner are super nice! The food is amazing! Very flavorful! Also super nice background music. It was a great experience.

Walking distance from my hotel, clean, excellent COVID protocols, happy, friendly, attentive staff, clean tables, spacious rooms, prices reasonable for tourists, great drinks, my dish was excellent. Looks like a mole, but with a guava based sauce., nuts and white rice. I would definitely go back. Clean, clean restrooms. Enjoy

Tucked away on a quieter street a stone's throw from El Llano, La Biznaga is a real gem. My friend who worked for the owner at the old location showed me this "best kept secret" of Oaxaca and I am eternally grateful because it is a fantastic restaurant.

I had a delicious salad with fresh greens, beets, onions fruits and peanuts followed by a huge slab of pork belly roasted and drowning in a unique mole that had blackberry puree added. It came with potatoes and mushrooms too. It was succulent and delicious. The items my friends ordered looked fabulous as well and they reported the taste was superb. They have a decent selection of affordable wines so I ordered 3 bottles and we all got drunk.

A light chocolate cake and coffees for dessert finished this perfect meal. And it was surprisingly inexpensive!

If you want to go for cocktails after dinner, just head a block over to El Llano and walk it's perimeter. There you will find a variety of nice funky hipster type bars to drink the night away. Although La Biznaga does offer plenty of delicious cocktails and a good selection of local craft beers so you might not want to go anywhere else!

Definitely check out La Biznaga and ask to sit on the terrace if you can. Great food in lovely surroundings and a laid back vibe. Really nice and highly recommended

This place is a gem. Best vegetarian Mexican food we have had on our trip so far (they serve plenty of meat and fish dishes too). It was hard to choose what to order as there were so many tasty sounding dishes. It’s a 9 minute walk from the Santo Domingo, but worth every step. Patio is beautiful and the staff were friendly and attentive. Going back tomorrow.

The old place was much better.
It was convivial, social and very tasty.
Artist, revolutionaries, old hand expats and gourmand Mexicans would meet "under the tree " to have a conversation and a surprisingly pleasant meal.
Now, the new place is soulless. A compartmental edifice
that isolates patrons instead of integrates.
The food seems automated , blandly predictable and careless .
The owner is kind , sociable and attentive.
What a shame such a good man is represented by such a mediocre and pedestrian restaurant.
