This place is amazing! Alex and Andres and the entire staff are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable and make this a unique and wonderful stay in the city. The location is superb and the rooftop is a beautiful place to rest/read/ eat the wonderful food Comala serves. I cannot speak highly enough of Comala and the amazing people that made this such a wonderful experience in Oaxaca!

I just stopped in for lunch and it was excellent and very inexpensive, full 3 courses (salad with fried potato, fish empanadas with great salsa and guac, slice of cheese cake) with juice and coffee for 110 pesos. Waiter was charming.

I had a quick change of plans and booked a last-minute stay here for 1 night. Room on the lower price point was basic but had everything needed, the terrace is a nice bonus. Much less street noise than at other hotels in the city. Staff and owner are extremely friendly and are fun to talk to - I would consider staying here again just to chat with them some more.

Excellent location, very comfy bed, and staff that went out of their way when you needed help, otherwise left you alone. Definitely would stay here again.

Great roof, really nice staff. Quite close to Santo Domingo - nice location. My room was small and there were some quirks but for the price—great option.

Had amazing time here... very clean, beautiful roof terrace and everyone was very friendly and helpful. Great location as well. Would definitely stay here if return to Oaxaca. Thank you!

We are from Canada and were visiting Oaxaca last month for only one day. We stayed at this Bu0026B one night only. At first it looked clean and nice however we woke up the night with big ants crawling everywhere, in our arms, bed, mattress, floor and walls. We were unable to go back to sleep. When we told the manager our nightmare and lack of sleep he appeared to be concerned and stated that he would be in touch with the owner of the establishment to provide a reimbursement to us which did not happen.
Also, we had to wake up early next morning for a tour only to find out that there was no water either on faucets or shower. It came back after 7am but it took a while to have hot water. Not impressed.
