Had a great time exploring the markets and cooking many dishes with Oscar. He’ll send you home with electronic copies of all the recipes you cook, which is great, because with the number of dishes we cooked and ate in such a short period of time, it would be impossible to remember it all. Not only was Oscar friendly and educational, but his team was also very helpful and worked hard to make sure the kitchen space stayed clean throughout all the meal prep. Would recommend!

This was an amazing experience! A casual introduction to food prep and local ingredient vocabulary. The market tour was educational as well. You will make new friends, discover delicious new flavors and have the recipes waiting in your inbox to try at home. Kudos to all the staff at Casa Crespo!

This cooking class is easy to get as it’s in the central district and a van ride is not required. I liked the tour through the local food market to see everything first hand. The dining and kitchen areas are comfortable. What blew me away was the delicious mole sauce we made. It was not too hot, not took sweet, and not too difficult to make. I’ve had probably eight different sauces here, and this is the one I’ll make at home.

Wow, Chef Oscar exceeded our expectations. The explanatory visit to the local market after working out a menu to please us was so helpful. And then, the six course meal we learned to and helped to prepare was outstanding. Tacos, 3 salsas, mole, enchiladas, avocado soup, ice cream with Oaxacan chocolate...wow!

Please AVOID. I took part in the cooking class yesterday. Oscar was very apathetic and rude. Providing one word answers to my questions. Of which, it was either a "yes" or a "no". Finally, the service could have been more honest regarding the use of masks. There was no prior notice regarding the use of masks inside or outside the kitchen. The joy of cooking is to smell the flavours. If I knew about Oscar's poor attitude and the nonsensical mask rules, I wouldn't have joined. 1,300 pesos wasted. What a shame.

Had an excellent time with Oscar and he helped me perfectly for a special occasion I had planned. Very knowledgeable about the local ingredients and very informative trip to the market. Class was pitched perfectly for us (beginner cooks, but love to eat). Oscar was very friendly and accommodating. Great terrace outside where we had lunch afterwards.

Highly recommend you stop by if interested in learning more about Oaxaca cuisine!

Amazing experience with chef Oscar and his assistant . The day started off with a simple breakfast of bread and coffee or chocolate . Then off to the market to buy the ingredients for the special lunch. Oscar took his time explaining every detail and was very patient with us. After we went back to the kitchen and started cooking. Oscar and his assistant were absolutely wonderful . Every step was explained in detail to us which we truly appreciated. After all the food was cooked . We were sat a table in the patio , the table was very elegant and beautiful! The meal was absolutely delicious. Honestly could not have asked for a better afternoon. Worth every cent! Would certainly consider Casa Crespo a must do when in Oaxaca!
