The room was clean and simple, it had a mini fridge. The bathroom tile is dated. No TV in the room. Breakfast is included, I had French toast with fruit, fresh squeezed OJ and coffee. It was delicious. The hotel has a bar/ restaurant. The staff was very friendly. Overall, a nice experience.

Breakfast is just bad. There is a daily menu without any choice: like tortilla with frejoles and chicken on Tuesdays or eggs with ham on Thursdays.
Had to get breakfast in a cafė.
The room we got was nice and large but no hot water to bathe as we came on a rainy day and on that part of the guest house has only solar heating. There is no air conditioning in the rooms and no heater, just fan. For the price I would expect for more. I wonder how come they marked 3star hotel. The second star I gave for the good location, the lovely garden, and the comfortable bed. Another annoying thing is that in order to get in and out of the hotel someone has to open the gate! I totally agree with a previous review saying “minimalism gone bad”

Beautiful well located spot, super friendly staff, but no hot water. Tragic. We had to shower with super cold water at 7 am because we were leaving to Monte Alban at 8 am. As water is heated with solar power and there are numerous rooms, the power isn’t enough to heat it. Maybe on really hot days and not in the early morning works good. But that is quite useless. We obviously left.

The cleaning people are terrible, came back to my room to find my wet towels hanging back up on the shower pole all damp by the cleaning ladies. I had to grab them all and take them to be exchanged for new ones. The shower head was spraying from the pipe area, me and my wife couldn’t shower. mold around the area where the sink meets the wall. Toilet seat too short for the toilet. There was a sliding wall in my living room which was hiding a hugh window, I had to stuff it with what I find to cover the hugh gap. People outside can clearly see in my room. Another small window in the kitchen was easy to look thru from the outside and see my whole living area. Complete mold on a rubber flap they had put on the shower drain. Why I didn’t give it one star was because the rest of the staff and the garden were awesome. But they need more stricter room policies. The room fell short completely. Even the decor was sad.

FYI cash only at the time of this review. Superb beer selection. I was amazed by the quality and uniqueness of Oaxacan artisanal beers as well as the craft salts and other special items such as hibiscus kombucha. Staff is wonderfully friendly as are the locals who stop by to have a beer at the small bar. Try the coffee stout by Mula brewery! This is a must visit if you love beer and find yourself in Oaxaca.

Fabulous place to stay with top of the notch facilities for all sorts of gatherings, yoga, a cocktail. Love the personal attention by owner and staff!

For the price and location, I really cannot make any complaints! Our room was clean and I dug the Oaxaca meets Minimalist approach. Wifi was not great, but good enough to stream shows at night. The included breakfast was great (and the beautiful, shaded outdoor area to have it) and special thanks to Mao who was able to make us a special diet friendly meal each morning. The coffee was also outstanding. Would stay here again!
