Tlacoyotitlán is so great — my favorite part is that they grow, soak/mix, and make all of their ORGANIC CORN based food from scratch. From blue corn quesadillas to delicious chilaquiles (highly recommend the verdes w cochinita and a fried egg on top), to sopa azteca (tortilla soup) and their succulent pan de ELOTE(corn bread muffin with a side of Ron pope/eggnog) !! So damn good.

Lots of great fresh juices with ingredients you don’t see elsewhere, and pre-Hispanic detectables such as escamoles (ant eggs) and chapulines (crickets).

Indoor and outdoor seating, pay with cash or card, good café de olla, and totally reasonable prices.

What more can you ask for?

A fish tank filled with 3 ancient paedomorphic salamanders (alojotes)? Done and done.

Very good!
Make sure to come with an open mind for you to taste all the different bug dices they have, we tried the cocopache bug and the taste was very pleasant.
Good variety of Mexican food and very friendly service.

Tlacoyotitlan seemed like a good place to try pulque for the first time. Got to try everything once, right?! Not really into fermented drinks like kombucha, so... not really my thing. Tried the gorditas de chapulines and also, not really my thing... I have eaten grasshoppers before, on tlayuda, but this was pretty much all grasshopper and nothing else. Glad I tried it. Muy interesante!

Good vibe, good food, good service! The weather was nice so we sat outside and it was safe as a tourist. The menu looked adventurous. They had insects in their pre-Hispanic section! Didn’t dare to order that but we ordered tlacoyo and flautas. The former was ordered in a ‘drowned’ version and the jalapeño-based sauce was yum! The tlacoyo itself wasn’t my cup of tea. Good experience as it was our first try. The flautas were a bit bland but portion was good. The fresh juices were refreshing!

This place serves up some great pre-hispanic food and makes delicious juices. WARNING TO MY FELLOW VEGANS (and vegetarians): they have a "vegetarian" pozole on their menu, but after checking with the waiter, he did mention, thankfully u0026 truthfully, that it's a chicken broth base. So glad I asked. Sadly, this is not the first restaurant in CDMX that blatantly lies/deceives customers with fake vegetarian/vegan dishes. I only hope that my "vegetarian" huarache (without cheese for this vegan) was truly vegetarian. It was very tasty! The service is quite excellent, as well. I cannot, however, give this place anything bigger than 3 stars because of the deceptive menu.

Lots of healthy juice options, big portions, delicious quesadillas. Perfect brunch place on a weekend!

The place ia really nice if you're in town to try something very chilango. Then again, the prices are a little high for my taste and the dishes are something you could also find in every corner.
It's not a very comfortable establishment and there's a lot of waiting time.
