As we were walking by this building we intrigued by the tile surface of the structure and wanted to know more. We discovered the most incredible interior that housed a restaurant. The size can be daunting but definitely go to the upper levels. Inspite of the size they have a huge, very efficient staff. Service was excellent as was the food. An amazing experience. Final note, go to the sculpture garden across the road...beautiful.

This Sanborn's restaurant is beautiful and historical. The place has a lot of history. The food is good and the hot chocolate delicious! After eating you can go around to admire the place and also you can buy a souvenir .

So beautiful place where now Sanborns restaurant and shops located.
Service and food are normal,
when we were there a violinist played and was a bit crowded. There were some problems with payment, but everything was quickly resolved.

I only recommend this place for the experience and architecture BUT NOT for the food.

Service 3/5
Food 2/5
Price 3/5

I really appreciate the architecture of this place it's really unique and really old compared to the buildings around. When it comes to the food it's pretty bland, unless of course you like a ton of cheese. We ordered e the Chile en nogada which is season typical dish during the month of September. Of course prises are going to be a lot more expensive here than places far from the city center but the Chile itself was cold both the pepper and the stuffing. I know for a fact that the sauce that goes on top of it is cold but the rest was really bad cause it was cold ❄️.
They don't have many coffee options and they were cold as well even when you ask for hot one. The enchiladas were just soggy tortillas with really dry chicken inside and a ton of cheese. And their juices are sitting on a card with no cover, right by the aisle where everyone walks by.
Our food took more than 45 minutes to be served, don't know why because the restaurant was pretty empty and they do have a lot of staff.
Overall I would say go just for an americano coffee and enjoy the view.

This restaurant is a vibe! Food was good but nothing special! The ambience was incredible with a piano man playing beside me. Prices are affordable

Beautiful historic restaurant. Excellent food, service and amenities. We had a pianist and later a violinist. Great ambiance! I do stop by when I visit CDMX.

The most beautiful restaurant in CDMX. Make sure to have breakfast here and take pictures of the lovely murals, ceiling and tiles.
