Avoid if you want authentic Italian. Or even tasty Italian.
Food: 1*
Everything but food was really good. For me, though, restaurants are weighted towards food.
+The bread served table side, with 3 choices were actually pretty good, but I don't think they make it in house. The thin pieces were a little weird with dried herbs, but the cheese was good on it.
+Cheese seems authentic.
-All pasta, the backbone of Italian, tasted like from boxes--perhaps the boxes that are touted with such pride in the back?
Not only from a box but overcooked, and like another reviewer said, mushy.
The ravioli is TINY. Mine was about quarter size, or about 10peso coin size--the cheese shavings were bigger!
-Meat was tasteless. Nice chunk, looked tasty, but no flavor.
-Sauces are average or below. Red sauce tasted from a jar or can. They could well have made it, but it didn't have any depth and they did a surprisingly good job of emulating jarred sauce...
The Madeira sauce tasted heavily of flour.
Service: 4*
Very nice, attentive service that wasn't in your face. Discreet. Spoke some English.
Ambiance: 3.5*
It's nice, was pretty empty when we got here (only one other table), but the pictures on Yelp do make it look nicer.
All in all, the experience wasn't bad, but the food was kinda atrocious, especially for the relative price in the area. I would definitely not recommend when there are so many other good places to eat.
