Beautiful museum located in an old monastery. The permanent exhibition showcases religious art, but there are other expositions as well.

This museum has mummies in the basement area, and I've come to visit them several times, but the whole area was closed due to COVID restrictions in place and the basement had no ventilation whatsoever. I was disappointed I could not visit the mummies, I missed them. If they would just add in ventilation to the basement and allow people in, I would give it five stars.

Nice and well maintained place. The exposition about life in a XVII century monastery is overwhelming.
In this place is also displayed a small but well preserved number of mummies that date from that time.
The place is a must when visiting Mexico city.

I was very surprised to see that this convent has mummies that are very well preserved despite not going through a curing process, although there isn't alot of information about them other than being burried at the church and then dug up by soldiers looking for treasures but finding only bodies. The rest of the museum is equally impressive. Beautiful paintings and rooms where servant lived have now been converted to display areas. The garden although not fancy by any means is very well kept.

Wonderful museum in San Angel. The museum is huge and really cheap. There is a wide collection of religious art by mexican artists of colonial times. The crypt is a jewel with amazing frescoes and also well preserved mummies. Attach to the museum is a beautiful church with some astonishing domes.

Horrible people at the entrance! As INTERNATIONAL STUDENT you present your identification but they say its only valid if you are a Mexican student and for Mexico basically your if study somewhere out of Mexico its as if you wouldn't study at all

Beautiful colonial masterpiece. Make sure you take the guided tour. Such an interesting part of the History of México!
Is a very large museum, many chambers and even a crypt with mummified corpses.
