Rocked up to La Nuclear of by accident just wandering through La Roma . The kind waitress went above and beyond to and asked the bar next door to borrow a table for us to sit as the place was packed. Tried pulque for the first time, pure pulque as it was the end of the night and all the fruit infused flavors were sold out. What an experience!

Great compact dive bar to drink a cheap beer (or few). The weekends get pretty packed, but always a good crowd.

If you're paying with an international credit card, just make sure they charge you in the local currency (MXN) and NOT in USD/EUR (or wherever you're from) otherwise you'll end up paying about 3 to 5% more because you'll get a mediocre exchange rate + a percentage for the "convenience".

They didn't ask us which currency we wanted to pay with, which is why I dinged them a star.

Always pay in the local currency.

A place that if you pass by you probably wouldn't notice. A very small bar with a incredible pulque (40 the small, 70 the big one 1L). Also offer beers, sotol, mezcal, drinks and other things. For eating, order a tipical Oaxaca tempales (normally with a vegetarian option). Just be aware that pulque is a fermented drink that is made in the morning and could run out during the day.

Super cool place for a few drinks. While in CDMX I made it my mission to try Pulque before the weekend was over. Keep your eyes peeled, because this place is easy to miss.

We ordered the Pulque Natural. I really wanted to like it, but just couldn’t quite. It’s likely an acquired taste and I would certainly indulge again when in Mexico City, but won’t go into my regular rotation back home.

I’d add La Nuclear to your itinerary for sure. If you or your mates don’t care to drink it, order a Caguama of Carta Blanca and enjoy the atmosphere. Great place for a drink or two before bouncing to the next spot in Roma or Condesa.

Nice experience, cheap prices and good service. The bad thing is the bathroom.

If you are about to try pulque for the first time, you should avoid this place. The location has made this pulquería very popular, as tourists without a sense of pulque's taste rate it high. The price is fair and that's a good point considering that it is located in the heart of hipsterland. The infrastructure is very basic as it should be in any pulquería. However, the pulque -the cornerstone of the pulquería- isn't any good. I had the three flavours and they were all lacking of flavour and strength. The snack and the service were also very poor and the bathroom could be cleaner...
