Cool and colorful place, they serve free botana, like peanuts, tacos de papa and some sort of chicharrones. Bad thing they only accept cash and i think is a bad idea to get drunk there because there is no “official”check, it’s whatever the waitress wants to charge

Well they actually “close” at 10:30 and once we have the nice man at the door a “propina” for a group of 7 people we were let in. That said it was a wonderful experience.

I’m usually client, but yesterday la faena disappointed me, faena was the icon of traditional Mexican contemporary scene, I never thought that I need pay $500 for enter to drink very bad beer and listen the worse music but that’s the point of faena right now is an elitist place, racist, fascist and gentrificaded place.

A one of a kind cantina with great micheladas, yummy tacos dorados (on the house), and an atmosphere that tips a nostalgic hat to los matadores.

Food is good and great price. Music is good too since there is a music box with a vast variety. The place has personality, the only downside in my opinion is the few drink options... but i guess that's part of the concept, specially when there is only one waiter fit the whole place.
I will definitely go back.

A traditional Mexican cantina with a relaxed but fun ambience. Every time I go it is busy but not too busy that you have to wait for a table. The drinks are strong and service is fast.

Drinks very well served, snacks included. A hidden kitch gem in the heart of Ciudad de México's downtown. Don't expect glamour.
