Good cheap place. Nice staff, right across from a park. A little musty and the internet isn't strong but that comes with the cost. The layout inside is clearly designed as a liaison hotel but in the 2 weeks I stayed there were families staying, business people. If you're saving your money and don't mind some flavor, it's a good pick.
Many ladies of the night in the area, if that's your style, or if you just want to have a nice chat.

a good hotel. Hot water and private bathroom. A mosquito net in the windows of the room would be nice

We, my husband and I, have been here two years in a row. We are pleased with the front desk staff who are very friendly and go out of their way to be helpful. The room is kept clean and the pricing is fair. The location makes it easy to get around the central parts of the city, from the Zocolo to the zoo. We really like the eclectic neighborhood and the local street food. When we come to Mexico City, this is where we stay and recommend to all our friends.

I honestly thought it was going to be terrible, but it turn out to be great. Great view of the garden, and its fountain. Nothing fancy as it was just a bed, restroom, and tv. Great place if you just need a simple room.

Clean rooms, comfortable beds, quiet environment, friendly staff. No need to pay for luxury; this hotel is ideal for the ocasional traveler on a tight budget. Location is convenient, two and a half blocks from the Revolución subway station--it may be perceived as a slightly insecure neighborhood at night, though.

We stumbled across this hotel by chance and how fortunate that we did. At only 210mxn a night for a king-sized room for two, this hotel is an absolute bargain and we really really like it here. Staff are very friendly, our room is palatial with a view of the square (OK so there is the occasional noise disturbance from the street population out there but this doesn't bother us), very clean and bright with a huge window, TV with a few english-language channels, daily cleaning with soap etc provided. There is so much floorspace that it feels more like a studio flat. I'd recommend getting a room facing the street as the internal-facing ones may be smaller, from what I've glimpsed. They don't advertise an internet connection but we asked for the password and got it ;) All in all I highly recommend the Oxford.
