This little café is a gem in the Del Valle neighborhood. It is by far the best coffee in this part of the city. My wife and I were visiting Mexico City for an extended period, and staying in a hotel a couple of blocks away. I started every day there once I discovered it. It made my day, everyday for weeks, and I wouldn't consider getting coffee anywhere else.

It's just a little place with one table and two chairs. Most people get their coffee to go, but I sat there every morning drinking wonderful espressos and americanos out of porcelain cups, and having great conversations with the owner.

The espresso is excellent. They use beans from Oaxaca that are fresh and not overly roasted. The espresso is drawn perfectly, consistent, strong, and always great. Really, pretty perfect. The americano, made the way it is supposed to be (espresso + hot water), is equally good.

This little gem is one of my favorite places in the city that is soon to be my new home. Thank you Cortaditto Café for making so many of my days.

Such a great place to dive in, small but warm.

I highly recommend you their now famouse "Horchata Brew", it's a mix of horchata water with a portion of expresso (or maybe two if you're a risky one). They offer Chapatas and some desserts too.

For the record, you can trade books with them, they have a small library available to be read or to be traded.

Coffee spots abound in Mexico City. Good ones are not as easy to find (I visited over 20 spots, mostly non-chains). Especially for espresso drinkers. I rarely make comments but this hidden gem can compare to literally any espresso I've had - NYC, Paris, Tokyo, Austin ... Add to this prices are ~50% lower than other, hipper places in Roma/Condesa. For real coffee lovers its worth a special trip to this spot.
