Pretty cool remarkable historical monument in one of the busiest roundabouts in Merida, Paseo de Montejo, Monumento a La Patria, or the Homeland Monument, was the work of the Colombian sculptor, Romulo Rozo. It was inaugurated in 1956 that tells the story of Mexico from Tenochtitlan to the mid20th century. This is a priceless treasure and a must-see for any visitors in the area.

This place is beautiful. I recommend taking the city tour which is hosted by Oliva and ends here at this site. It explains the symbols and calendar monument well.

Beautiful modern Mayan inspired monument. It's worth the walk to check it out and walk around looking at all it's aspects. Be careful crossing the roundabout to get there.. it may not be apparent at first but there is one crosswalk with a police officer kind enough to stop traffic.

Beautiful landmark. It's worth taking a tour to understand the history behind it or download the app visit Mérida so you can so it without a tour guide. The government has an information booth for tourists near the Hyatt and fiesta Americana hotels.
