It's currently greeting another renovation so it's noisy and dirty. The only thing left of traditional Acapulco is the church. However the locals are very nice and welcoming of tourists.

Plaza Álvarez is the oficial name of the Acapulco Zócalo, location of a Branches of BBVA Bank, La Casa de los Abuelos, Mi Piacci Italian café, the Cathedral of Our Lady of Solitude, and several shops. Near the port, just west of Sanborns Centro.
