In A Nutshell:

-The Rio Grande Restaurant is a really good place to go find a whole red snapper cooked "sarandeado" style!
-The red snapper you see in the photos below are enough to feed 3 to 4 people, but just two of us were able to devour it.
-The flavor was awesome, I really loved the wood fired taste.
-You get a small side of steamed veggies u0026 Spanish rice too.
-The restaurant is easy to find.

Overall, this fish was $30, which isn't bad at all. I highly recommend going to grab a meal here especially if you are looking for red snapper.

I’ve been here multiples times and will continue to come here! Everyone is super nice and the waiters are really attentive. The food doesn’t take too long and is good to eat.

I think if you want seafood for lunch this is a good place and it’s affordable.

The drinks are strong and I’ve only ever had issues when I order a type of drink that comes with seeds and the seeds aren’t taken out.

Unprepossessing place with amazing food. Popular with locals for a reason... Large portions of delicious dishes. Even the ubiquitous guacamole (everywhere in PV) was outstanding.

They are known for their giant prawns wrapped bacon (mummy style on the menu) which both of us had. I ordered mine with BBQ pork ribs... Also outstanding. While we were eating, a waiter came by with one of their enormous family-style mariscos platters -- mixed seafood -- which looked so incredible I almost followed him out to the outdoor table where he served it.

For food alone, I'd have scored 5 stars, but the venue is very basic, so that lost them one star, nearly made up for by the warm and attentive service.

The food was so good...I'm writing this review still sitting in the restaurant!
Had Surf and Turf, it came with 1.5 nice sized lobster tails, 3 butterfly Shrimp and a very tender and tasty flank steak. Wife had Almond Fish...WOW All the food in PV has been good! However...some places really stand out and this one is Outstanding. Friendly, mature waiters. The Breaded Shrimp appetizers are just Delicious. We have travelled all over the world and when we find something very special it gets a review. Love the sidewalk or inside dining options as well.
We have a new Seafood favorite!

We have been eating at Restaurant Rio Grande for years now. My friends love the grilled snapper. I'm a big fan of the Mexican Style Shrimp and Strawberry Margs. People watching from the tables out front is great. They have been in business since 1984. It's on Av Mexico, past the end of the Malecon, across from Ley's.

Very good seafood restaurant that is very popular with locals. Nice indoor area with fans and clean. I had a Pacifico, 2 fish fillets, rice, salsa and some ceviche for $15 US. Friendly staff and quick service. I will definitely go back!

Awesome. We had grilled snapper for two. Fish was big enough that leftovers created another meal, with making additional sides. Fantastic! Grilled char taste was apparent. Large pina coladas were great! Awesome shrimp ceviche. Please support this locale spot.
